✳️ Reading Vs Listening�

For some people, reading is faster than listening. Giving people the option of reading or listening, exposes your church to a wider audience.

✳️ Think Accessibility�

A very cogent and important reason is to enable the deaf and hard of hearing to access your content. According to WHO, more than 360million people, 5% of the world population have disabling hearing loss.
Going by the UN reports 25.5 millions are Nigerians living with disabilities out of which 9.5 millions are Deaf Nigerians.
There is a particular WhatsApp group I belong too, anytime trainings or seminars are held on the group, the ones who are deaf, will voice out to be taking into consideration , and more often than not, the speaker will use both text and voice notes and the seminar will be transcribed for their benefit. As pastors, we need to always take the deaf population too into consideration and transcribe our audio sermons if we want to reach a larger audience.

Also, some individuals don't speak English as their first language, so they find it difficult to follow the audio sermons, having a transcript allows them to read at their own pace.

✳️ Search Engine Optimization- SEO

SEO is all of the activity that improves your website's ranking in search engines like Google. If someone searches for "Christian sermons" on Google, the more optimised your site is for the topic, the more likely you will show up higher in the search results. When you transcribe your sermons, and post on your website, it allows you to be discovered by search engines.

✳️ Printable Transcripts make sense �

Some people may want to have a hard copy of your sermons, to give during bible study groups or in Sunday school classes. People can also write notes on them or highlight their favourite parts. While some people just prefer reading physical copies, than reading on a screen... I do, most of the time.�

✳️ Make it a marketing Content

A long sermon can be broken up into bits and used as content for your social media post, emails, blogs or newsletters.
