I don't identify as an atheist but really, holding on to contested findings like this make one seem desperate and weakens one's argument. Secondly, if the shroud has patterns that depict the image of someone, it's probably more of a symbolic item than the actual thing. The blood of a wounded person doesn't go imprinting their image on their clothes except care was taken to get the pattern. And the patterns I see above are too perfect for that. The key word here is "probably".
