With what visa are you trying to enter a foreign country with precisely? Because to "hustle" legally you will need a work permit or permanent residency for the country you intend going to. To get a work permit for a western country is not easy at all talkless of permanent residency which can take years. It does not even matter how much money you currently have because that money will run out quick once you have to start paying rent, utility bills and groceries in your new country of residence.

Too many Nigerians I have noticed have enough money for airline ticket but do not have sufficient money to live relatively comfortable in the western world long enough until they can obtain either a work permit or permanent residency.

In addition, Nigerians are not aware that immigration policies are getting tougher and tougher each year. Even countries that are considered developing countries are making it extremely difficult for immigrants and potential immigrants how much more advanced countries.

I am not trying to discourage you. I am not saying you shouldn't migrate but what I am saying is be realistic. I see too many Nigerians stuck here abroad suffering. They couldn't get their papers (work permit, permanent residency permit, naturalized citizenship) as they had hoped for. They have no money to survive and before you know it, they start engaging in crime just to survive thereby soiling the already damaged reputation of Nigeria further. There is a reason why foreign missions in Nigeria make it so difficult for Nigerians to obtain a visa.

Many of you think that we are picking money on the streets here abroad but that's a fallacy. If you are able to get at least a work permit that will enable you to legally pick up employment in the country you are planning to migrate to, then by all means make the move. However, if you are thinking of coming on a tourist visa with the hope of overstaying, you will be making a big mistake.

Many of these Western countries are voting in leaders lately who are leaning towards conservative, right wing, anti-immigrant ideologies and don't want people from so-called "shithole" countries coming to their countries in search of the proverbial greener pastures except if you are perhaps a professional with skills being highly sought after in these advanced nations, example medical professionals for instance.

So think about all I have said considering that you are already married with a child. If you get stuck abroad for years on end, don't complain when another man starts taking care of your wife's sexual needs. After all, body no be firewood. Your child also needs you the father. Just saying.

- From a concerned foreign-born Nigerian residing legally in the diaspora

And why would he exclude African countries
All these quest for europe and US makes a lot of people miss out on good things
Botswana is a rich country with excellent ease of business
Same as Morocco,Egypt,Rwanda,Kenya
You can go to all these places, save money and guess what
They are all in AFRICA

Well said. Unfortunately, most Nigerians have this mindset that just because Nigeria is in disarray and currently without any clear sense of direction, they erroneously assume that all other Black African countries are in the same boat. Nigerians couldn't be more wrong.

An increasing number of Black African countries have made significant progress over the years while Nigeria was asleep. If you don't keep improving on yourself as a nation, you will be left behind. That is what happened to Nigeria.

Many Nigerians can't afford to travel around the African Continent so they are in the dark as to the progress other African countries have made over the years.

Most Nigerians don't realize that you don't have to travel to the western world to be successful. You can become financially successful right there in Africa.

An increasing number of Black people who descended from enslaved Africans and who are now citizens of the United States, countries in South and Central America, Europe and the Caribbean are moving or are looking to move back to Africa to take advantage of what the Continent has to offer and here we have Nigerians running away to the western world because they think they can't make it in life except if they are in the western world. Many have derailed their destinies due to this faulty way of reasoning. People never cherish what they have until they loose it I tell you.

you think 2.5 million will give this man's children quality education and healthcare in nigeria?

everytime someone says they have so and so money and want to travel, una go just come from somewhere and say " invest in agriculture", something wey you never do.

its inpossible to get a work kind of visa from nigeria so its definite that he is travelling on a tourist visa and who would give you work permit when you have not married a citizen or lived legally for years in diaspora before applying for a permanent residency? that guy is a joker. by the time he realize whats going on, he would wish he stayed in nigeria and started a business. but the thing is, if you tell them now, they would tell you to shutup and that if you dont knpw what you are doing you should come back let others who can hustle go.. lol.

You can get work visas from countries like UK while still in Nigeria. It depends on the skills you have and the company sponsoring you.

It's not just about electricity. Economic opportunities are all that matter. Mind you, electricity is not constant in Togo and Burkina.

Ghana is 1,000 better than nigeria! Truth is, Ghanaians don’t even need nigerians in their country! Go anywhere else you guys want!

There is no way Ghana is 1,000 times better than Nigeria. I was worked as a consultant with a Ghanaian firm before moving to North America. Nigeria is still the largest economy in Africa. Based on my experience working as a consultant in over 20countries, the Nigerian environment is volatile but Nigeria has more to offer than any other African country. Check World Bank data.

Ghana beats Nigeria only in security and power supply to be honest. And even then, that is if you compare from the bird's eyeview.

In real terms living in Abuja is better than living in Accra across all income levels.

Don't mind many of these people who have not traveled across Nigeria and the world in general. There are more opportunities in Nigeria than Ghana. I’ve worked in many of these countries before as a consultant and I laugh when I see Nigerians throw their country under the bus. Nigeria is struggling in different areas but it still has the greatest economic potential in Africa.

Most parts of Ghana(apart from Accra and parts of Kumasi) cannot stand near most Nigerian cities. There is high rate of poverty and inequality in Ghana as well.

I'm contemplating which country I can enter with the above budget and hustle legally. Then, bring my wife and daughter when am settled.

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. wink

Listen carefully...I have been away from Nigeria for almost 20 years not in Africa. Listen and listen.

1. Do not ever listen to all these young boys with no experience here.

2. Throw away such idea from the window

3. What's your qualifications ? Any skills?
4. You don't just fly into a country and expect everyone to greet you with smiling faces.
5. You can't work without invitations through employment by an employer.
6. You would be illegal to work and you wouldn't find any job without proper working permits.
7. Your amount of money is just money for BREAKFAST abroad.
8. Where are you going to stay? No one would agree to house an illegal immigrant.
9. Stay in Nigeria, save more or find any business that would increase your money.
10. Covid 19 have changed a lot of immigration policies. Why kill yourself early and make your kids fatherless and wife widow.
11. Africa is the next and last frontier. I suggest people to migrate to African countries legally.
12. Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda etc .find their requirements for setting business there and then decide.
All these I want to get out of naija sounds disgusting and ridiculous.
Without information you will commit suicide.
Stay away from abroad illegally, infact they would deport you from airport.

This is an advice from me.
