My Skoda Fabia Shaft Gets Damaged Twice In Two Months by ivcraig(m): 8:21am On Sep 05, 2020
Hello guys I need help. My Skoda Fabia drive shaft keeps breaking. I have fixed it twice two months ago and last month. It just got bad two days ago and I got stuck in the middle of a bridge.

I need help because the mechanics seem to have no clue what's causing it.

Thanks.

Go get a tokunbo shaft if you can get it. You are simply wasting your money on substandard part.

I changed it to a tokumbo part last month.

Your vehicle is probably an acidented vehicle ...and your chassis is out of alignment. So your shaft will keep stripping at the head.

Solution...go get a new skoda.

Mitsubishi Sigma did this to me through out my final year in Uni

Can't the chassis be realigned to fix the problem?

Really? Is the situation that hopeless?

Though Inheritted. It was bought brand new since 2007. So it's been 13 years since then.

Then check your lower arm, absorber, bushing and linkages.

Thanks. I'll use this to guide the mechanic. They seem to not have a clue yet.

Yes, your shafts got bad the first time and needed to be changed. You got replacement and went to give it to quack mechanic to replace. Get a good mechanic to replace it and your problems are over.

Then if the person who sold it to you did not experience this recurrent shaft problem, then you shouldn't. I dont buy that argument of the car being an accident vehicle and all that.

Your vehicle might truly be badly accidented one. Run a VIN check to confirm pls.

I just googled it now and I discovered brand new cars can have accident within a 13 year period.

Lol, yes possible.

But your comment and that of the other guy makes it look like he purchased one of this accidented vehicles normally repaired and sold by Nigerian dealers.

It was a simple fix. Took it to a mechanic that used a different type of bolts.

Can you explain again what you mean by shaft breaking, is it the metal shaft that breaks or the rubber boots that tears

Actually, the bolts that tie the shaft to the engine was breaking off. They were replaced twice but broke off. Then the last time, the mechanic kind of used a different screw that locks from behind.

I still don't understand the bolt you are describing.
From my understanding and experience on shaft I have replaced the car is a front wheel drive.
The CV shaft goes through the the wheel hub into the transmission and the spline goes into the gears.

If yours is attached to the transmission by bolt, how many bolts should be there and how many is actually there.

if you are missing bolts and/or the bolts is loose it will break from torque

Clearly you know a lot about cars and I don't. I'm inly learning about cars now. So this is my best explanation.
Please send videos where I can improve my knowledge on cars.

Also I have a challenge with my Camry 03, can you help? It's in the car talk section.
