SS 3. I went to those private school where they help students during WAEC (this was in addition to maaaddd teaching/tutoring. School was standard, I guess they just wanted to be absolutely sure/not take chances)

One day, during one of those 7-8am morning classes for finalists, the teacher was pissed that people weren't paying attention. I replied and told her that what's the point, we'll be taught anyway. Straight, she marched to the principal office.

Not long after I was called to the proprietor's office, there I met the principal and proprietor. I was a prefect BTW, and was academically sound. Anyway, I wasn't even grilled or anything, I was just asked if I was depending on them. I told them I didn't need it, and to prove to them, I'll blast my mock SSCE. I blasted it, topped the whole science class.

Anyways, during the real WAEC & NECO, we were not taught. The school stop teaching their students.

What took us to the principal's office was when they wanted to beat our buttocks.

But that was when we were to be beaten for offenses such as ...

I only experienced that about 2 times.

Generally, I was a good girl and didn't use to get into trouble.

I was seldom beaten.

It was only on two occasions that they beat my buttocks for an offense committed by the whole class in SS3. It was a mass punishment.

I was a consistent and unrepentant latecomer. At a point, I didn't know the principal had already filed my case on his table and was looking for an avenue catch me in the hand. That day, I had already passed my bag through the window and had even sneaked into the class as I always did when I got his invitation.

Was caught in the library tearing pictures out of multiple books by one the library workers. Dragged to the VP office before being marched to the principal's office, sent home and told to bring parents to pay damages. Refused to tell parents because my dad will probably kill me, the wicked female VP will come and drag me out of class and sent me home again

Got to a stage, I will pretend to go to school until my parents go to work and come back home. Finally the Geography teacher who was a family friend came home to tell my dad. The damage was paid for and my dad gave me the silent treatment for days but the expected beating never came lol. This happened a long time ago pre GSM era probably things are different now.
