How much would you go to kill a housefly?

Well, a man in France, in an unusual domestic accident, torched his own home while trying to kill a buzzing housefly.

The incident which was reported by local news media, Sud-Ouest, stated that the incident happened when the unnamed man from Parcoul-Chenaud village tried to swat a fly with an electric fly swatter.

The explosion occurred at 7:45 p.m. on Friday when the man was swerving the electric fly racket - used for killing bugs - around the kitchen. The racket is believed to have come in contact with the cooking gas from his leaky gas cylinder.

According to the report, the man is said to have escaped with a light burnt on his hand, and he has been transported to Libourne hospital for check-ups.

Meanwhile no report was given on the status of the housefly: whether it escaped the accident or not.

In another weird news, a Texas woman, Kate Wise, told KHOU-TV in Houston that she got burnt after her off-brand hand sanitizer caught fire while lighting a candle.
