[size=14pt]Man butchers ex-wife[/size] News Feb 22, 2011 By Tony Nyong A 55-year-old man, identified as Udo Ubom, aka, Anansa, from Ikot Obong village, in Essien Itiaba, Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, weekend, butchered his ex-wife, and thereafter turned himself over to the police. Anansa, a Bakassi returnee, it was gathered, killed the former wife, (name withheld), in broad daylight for allegedly having an affair with another man, a former friend of his, whose nickname was given as Obong Ekpe, before the two love birds, parted ways when things took a funny twist. Close sources said efforts by relatives to get the randy lady to go back to her former husband proved abortive. Anansa who had reported the unfaithfulness of the wife to family members and friends in the community, it was gathered, on the fateful day was attending the burial of a certain man in the community, when he saw his former friend hand in hand with the unfaithful wife. Fight broke out between the two jealous lovers but they were separated. Luck ran out of the woman, when the Bakassi returnee, quickly went for his neatly sharpened matchet and cut the wife into parts. Meanwhile a 30 year-old woman, Miss Martha Usoro, who was bathed with acid, by the former lover is one of the many victims of valentine tragedy, now receiving treatment in the hospital. Martha, a native of Ukana Ikot Akpa Inyang, in Essien Udium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State is now in serious pains at the cottage hospital, Ukana Ikot Ntuen after being bathed with acid. The two love birds who had made serious plans to celebrate the festival of love in their special way ended up in a quagmire when it dawn on them that they were both cheating on each other despite all the promises of love and a façade of affection. The man, Mr. Augustine Edward Udo, who had laid ambush somewhere cornered the girl whom they have been having affairs with and bathed her with acid.
