Obasanjo has a good sense of humor.

That's one of the things I like about him.

I remember in his time, he used to have an interactive program. Radio Nigeria and NTA would broadcast them live.

One guy called in to ask a question. Obasanjo sensed that he was inside his room and asked him why he was not at work that morning.

He said that he didn't want to go to work that day because it was raining heavily. Obasanjo asked him if he got permission from his boss, the guy answered NO.

Obasanjo called his name 3 times and said (in pidgin English): "If dem sack you for work, no come meet me to give you work because I no get work to give anybodi"

The caller started laughing and told him that he wouldn't ask the question again. Told Obasanjo that he would go to work now.

I will never forget that day.

On the other hand, I heard that Buhari cracks dry jokes. His aides laugh at his jokes in fear that they may lose their jobs if they do not grin

Retired or former...is appropriate designation...

Ex-- denotes a dishonourable discharge.

He is correct and that's for 2 reasons.

1) He is a 4 star general.

2) He was not dismissed from service.

Lol, it's a tricky one here.

Ex and former basically mean the same thing but in some branches of military especially Navy, ex is used more to describe a dishonorably discharged soldier while former is used to describe a well served soldier.

Baba is kinda right with his own reasons besides, former is more formal.

Yeah!!!!

i think Former military is better

Ex makes it look like Alumnus or old boys association.

Former means he's still connected to them and can be called up anytime for his experience in any security issue.

He can as well call them for assistance and you will see a trailer load of soldiers.

Who will like to be an Ex, when they normally tell us to find eX in school. I think eX is a prodigal son, that was why he run away and the reason for finding eX.
