Not only did coronavirus affect the first world countries, but it also affected the world as a whole. For the first time in a long while the world stood still. Coronavirus became a problem that cut across all race, gender, religion, nationality, generation, and sector. According to UNESCO, 2 billion students worldwide have been affected by the closure of schools. That is about 60 per cent of the student population in 107 countries. Since the future of a nation depends on how it grooms the future generation and the young shall grow. Therefore, the desired growth ought to start with education.
In the words of Michael Bierut: “The problem contains the solution” and like the saying ‘a stitch in time saves nine’, preventive measures ought to be in place to save the stitch of the educational sector in time. Thus, the introduction of online classes across all states. Meanwhile, children, whose only idea of technology was limited to games, had no choice but to adapt to the new normal. Similarly, teachers, with little or no knowledge of modern-day technology, were forced to learn.
Poverty was also a factor, with the adoption of online classes, there is a need for gadgets to enhance the smooth sail of learning. The need for these gadgets brought more bills to the already existing bills children of low-income earners were unable to afford.
