Milwaukee bucks player and former Lakers star "Pau Gasol" announced the special news that he's a father.

The two-time NBA champion and wife welcomes their first child together, a baby girl.

Pau also reveals that his baby's name is a tribute to the late "Gianna Bryant" (RIP) who died alongside her father "Kobe Bryant" (RIP) in a serious helicopter crash in January.

Pau shared on Instagram on Sunday, September 13th that; "Our little one has finally arrived!!! The delivery went really well and we couldn't be more happier.

Pau Gasol and his wife "Catherine McDonnell" named their daughter " Elizabeth Gianna Gasol".

Catherine revealed that the little one arrived on September 10.

The proud mom captioned her post; "she made a quick and easy entrance on a very special day, her great grandmother marked her 100th birthday and her parents second engagement anniversary", she also captioned;

" We are already so in love with our sweet ELLIE".

Additionally, Vanessa Bryant re-shared the good news on her private Instagram feed that she's the godmother of Pau Gasol and Catherine McDonnell's newborn daughter.

She wrote on her newsfeed: "my daughter is here!!! Congratulations @paugasol @catmcdonnell7, love you 3 so so much! and I can't wait to hold Elisabeth Gianna Gasol".

Vanessa's heartwarming message read "I was so touched by your request to honor my GiGi".
