Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani reacted as the United States imposed visa sanctions on some Nigerian politicians.

Sani, however, notes that the visa restriction would help Nigeria ensure credible and transparent elections.

Recall that the US had yesterday imposed a Visa Ban on some politicians involved in rigging the last Bayelsa and Kogi governorship elections.

Morgan Ortagus, the spokesperson for the Department of State announced the sanction in a statement.

However, the former lawmaker stressed that Nigeria’s failure to implement genuine electoral reforms led to foreign sanctions.

Nigerians are the problems of Nigeria. During 2019 elections there was a lot of noise on electronic voting as well as electoral reform bill, as if the whole world will collapse if we do not use it for that election.

Today, election is over no more noise. They are waiting till another major election. All Nigerians are quiet, instead we are shouting fuel increase strike and energy hike burden. None of us is locking down the state and demand for the passage of electoral reform bill.

I don't agree with this. The US should mind it's own business. That's how they go about sanctioning countries that they don't like eg. Iran.
That is how Obama refused to sell weapons to Nigeria because Jonathan refused to legalise homosexuality in Nigeria.
