From my little experience with the Oil and Gas industry, I have come to realise that the lesser your qualification, the greater your chance of securing a job, and if opportuned, a career with the industry.

This doesn't mean you cannot get a job with a Bsc or Msc, but like i said the chance is greater with an ND or HND (especially for Engineering-related courses). With either of these, you can continue your education while working and building a career.

For non-engineering programmes (e.g. geology, safety, etc), a BSc is advised fortified with relevant experience and/or professional certification, attitude and intelligence.

It is also noteworthy that some companies are oil n gas servicing, while others are really into exploration and production. Also, some of the companies in this industry are fun to work with as they promise a genuine job security while others don't.

A useful hint to getting into the industry is  by having a very sound knowledge of whatever you studied (irrespective of level: ND or Msc).
