Family war: Ciroma’s wife tackles husband • Rubbishes NPLF’s adoption of Buhari • Says: We ’ll test our popularity at the polls

http://odili.net/news/source/2011/feb/25/525.html

The woman fondly called the Amazon of the PDP, rubbished the last week’s adoption of Buhari as the preferred northern presidential candidate by Ciroma and his group. Hajia Inna spoke at the PDP women rally for the North-West zone which was flagged off by the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, in Katsina township:

“There is a political party registered just 11 months ago and they (CPC supporters) are claiming that they are coming to compete with PDP that has been on ground for the past 12 years.

What manner of people are we talking about? The PDP is a party that has history. We have history and we have future. Some parties just have history and they are trying to insist that they can compete with us. Well, we will go and test our popularity. “Nigerian women cannot forget what happened in 1984, when we used to go out and queue for essential commodities in this country. We now have leaders that believe in the people and they are providing for the needs of the people. We don’t need to go and queue again.”

Hajia Inna also lamented that while the opposition politicians were doing nothing but waiting to challenge the victory of the ruling party, the PDP leaders were blazing campaign trails across the nation: “Some people are doing nothing and they will come and tell us that they have won and they will go to court and claim our victory. God will not give them that one (victory) and the PDP will not accept that one this time around.”

She charged PDP youth to defend the votes of the party in the coming polls, insisting that the party brought about “telecommunication revolution in Nigeria,” put an end to perennial protracted fuel scarcity and launched free health services for women and children below the age of five in the states under its control.

Mrs. Jonathan urged women to vote en masse for the PDP because it has assured that over 35 per cent of political office positions in the country would be reserved for them if re-elected. She submitted that the President, governors and others elected on the platform of the PDP deserved to be given a second term and it was high time states under the control of opposition were won by the PDP.

To the women who lost at the PDP primaries: “Don’t lose hope. If you are not there in elective positions, you will be there in appointed positions.” Katsina practically stood still for the ceremony hosted by the wife of the Katsina State Governor, Hajia Fatima Ibrahim Shema, with the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Amina Namadi Sambo, the wives of the governors of Kebbi, Zamfara and Kaduna states in attendance.

Shema, representatives of the wives of the governors of Jigawa and Sokoto states and the former governor of Kano State, Alhaji Kwankwaso, among other several chieftains of the party, graced the rally.

Yet another rhetoric from a PDP politician. Deep down, even Mrs Ciroma knows CPC will beat PDP hands down in North-West, including Sambo's Kaduna.

Beaf, perhaps you should leave NL for us for a few hours while you bask in the euphoria of the release of another felon into your benefactor's fold. Abeg go and celebrate Olabode George while adults engage in serious discussion.

Perhaps your memory fails you. It was in Kaduna that the crowd deserted GEJ when he went there to campaign. The Kaduna people left GEJ practically standing alone on the podium after listening to their chosen candidates. Perhaps you have forgotten that it was the lesson team GEJ learnt in Kaduna that led to the loss of 13 lives in Port-Harcourt, when the crowd were locked inside the campaign venue, to prevent them from leavinmg until GEJ finishes his dumb speech.

A man that is not even popular in his own base, will win Kaduna? You need to shine ya eyes o!

The opposition parties in this dispensation took the electorate for granted. we are planning to push obasajo and his cohort Gej out of power to pave way for credible people to lead us. people like BB which we believe through God is possible. But this people play politics with our future. what really disturbed the ACN and CPC to present one candidate. Even till this evenning Buhari and Bakare have not started compaigninig. what is there problem? Will the campaigning commence after the election is over? I believe GEJ has sharmed them. I fear o Pastor Bakare needs to rise up and ban spirit of lookwornness.
