Births are not registered, deaths are not registered, population estimate never definite, nobody knows who is somewhere and what they do for living - the same way they don't know where Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen are - economy can't be sustainably developed, because the population is amorphous.

Without birth certificate you can’t prove citizenship and may as well be a foreigner. Encourage new Nigerian mothers to insist hospitals show them how to go about registering their newborn.
