Activist Commends Sanwo-Olu, First Bank's N5bn Support Capital For Low-Cost Schools

Leader of the Nigeria Peace Advocacy Group (NPAG), Omolola Olukayode, has praised Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his intervention to mitigate the effect of the lockdown occasioned recently by the advent of Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Olukayode gave the commendation in Lagos in a chat with newsmen on Sunday where he expressed the delight over the reported issue in which the Lagos State government in partnership with the First Bank of Nigeria Ltd, launched N5 billion Post COVID-19 recovery support capitals for the education sector.

According to Olukayode, the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund collaborated with First Bank to support low-cost private schools across the state purposely to mitigate the negative impact of the dreaded pandemic, saying it is even gratifying that the intervention fund was target at over 2,000 Private Schools as loan for schools and vocational centres in the state.

The activist agreed with Governor Sanwo-Olu that, as the state gradually escapes the lockdown, the loan would go a long way to assist the beneficiaries to accelerate recovery from the socio-economic setback caused by the lockdown and further afford them the golden opportunity to painlessly return to regular life.
