Kuwait’s 91-year-old Emir Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah died on Tuesday in a hospital in the United States.

“With great sadness and sorrow, we mourn … the death of Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, emir of the State of Kuwait,” said Sheikh Ali Jarrah al-Sabah, the minister in charge of royal affairs, in a television broadcast.

Born in 1929, Sheikh Sabah is widely regarded as the architect of modern Kuwait’s foreign policy – having served as foreign minister for nearly 40 years between 1963 and 2003 – when he became prime minister.

He became Kuwait’s emir in January 2006 after the death of Sheikh Jaber al-Sabah

KUWAIT IS A CLOSED SOCIETY OF WHICH IT IS NECESSARY TO OPEN THAT COUNTRY TO OUTSIDE CULTURE AND CIVILIZATION.

The government of Kuwait should open up the country to foreigners to come and stay, live, work and study.

It is the openness of the UAE, Qatar that made those country great.

These countries UAE, Qatar are Islamic country just like Kuwait but being open to western civilization did not reduce their Islamic faith of their citizenry.

After sacrificing the lives of American, British, French in the allied war against the Saddam Hussein regime in which Kuwait was liberated from the annexation by Iraq in 1990.

It is needful of the Kuwaiti government to embrace more modern culture as against their closed system.

RIP to the Late Kuwait Monarch.
