As the first indigenous governor-general and President of Nigeria, Zik was the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. As the first and only Prime Minister of Nigeria, Tafawa Balewa was the Head of Government and Chief Executive of Nigeria. You could make a case for both of their wives being first ladies since Balewa was the counterpart to our Military Heads of State and Executive Presidents.
