Mallam Adamu Adamu, the Minister of Education in Nigeria has announced the reopening of all schools in the country by October 5, October 12 and as it applies depending on the nature of the school and its management. All schools here, implies primary, secondary and higher institutions. The Education minister announced this today Friday the 2nd day of October, 2020 during a press briefing.

By this announcement the yearning of parents and other stakeholders in the educational sector has been addressed.

Some states have earlier announced varied school opening dates with Lagos State taking the lead in announcing school reopening. The Minister asked the school authorities to put measures in place to tackle the covid-19 as stipulated by the NCDC.

With the ASUU strike still on and University lecturers owed months of unpaid salaries its not clear whether University students will resume classes immediately.
