Lately there have been a lot of criticism concerning Big Brother Naija.
Some went as far as saying that those watching or supporting the show are irresponsible and jobless.

I created this thread to show Nigerians that we are not the only one organizing Big Brother. Countries like Canada also organize Big Brother.
Would we say that the Canadians watching and supporting BBCAN are irresponsible and jobless?

Here is Big Brother Canada Season 8 that took place early this year in Canada.

Big Brother Canada 8 is the eighth season of the Canadian reality television series Big Brother Canada.
The season premiered with a two-night premiere on March 4–5, 2020, on Global and was expected to end on May 21 with the live finale.

The season was planned to run for a total of 83 days. However, on March 24, 2020, Big Brother Canada announced an early end to production on the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, with the season finale airing on April 1, 2020.

All filming ceased on March 24.

The CA$100,000 prize that would have gone to the winner went to a COVID-19 relief charity.

In an emotional farewell episode for Season 8 of Big Brother Canada, Global and Insight Productions revealed that, in light of an early end to production with no winner crowned, this season’s $100,000 grand prize will be donated to charities responding to COVID-19.

Let’s take a tour of Big Brother Canada Season 8 facilities.

Least I forgot. Big Brother Canada Season 9 application is ongoing. If you’d be 19 or older by 1st February, 2021 and you’re interested to join, simply visit their website and follow the instructions given.
The audition would be virtual.
Deadline for application is Friday, November 21, 2020.
Best of luck!

I didn't bring this here for comparison. I brought it here to show those calling people watching BBN jobless that the whites also participate in BB.

Errmm no is said that watching BB is for the jobless. Afterall it is part of entertainment. The only reason people say that is because of 'fanaticism' attached to the housemates.

If you have watched BBCanada and America you will know the housemates only determine who is nominated and evicted. And the winner is also determined by evicted housemates. Viewers have NO influence on the game including votes.

Also I would like to bring your attention of ages and occupations of people in the game. It is diverse and not limited to entertainment or to a certain age group. These people play the game of BIG BROTHER and not ROMANCE because they just love the game.

Personally I prefer the abroad version because you learn a thing or two.

My two cents.

No...no one has time and money to set up GoFundMe account for their housemates. The maximum thing that can happen is having more followers on social media and advertise gigs from companies. Most housemates go back to occupations sef

Oh, well I'm not of the opinion that they're irresponsible, but truth is majority are Jobless.(in Nigeria).

In Canada you can work per hour. Maybe after working like 6 - 7hrs and you got your pay, then you can go home to watch BBN.
But is that the case in Nigeria? absolutely No.

Which truth bros?

You dey everyone house dey see them abi?

Well, to be honest, it's your choice. But let me be sincere with you, if you live in Canada, especially as a single person, with tall ambition, bet me, you wont have time for Big Brother whatever. Your focus, especially if you live in Ontario, will be how to make the best use of OSAP, and quickly get an education, I mean the Canadian education that will give you the much desired opportunity to quickly rise in your career. OSAP is Ontario Student Assistant Programm. It pays eligible applicants $28k per annum to study. 20k is grant, 8k is loan. You can only get a maximum of four years in a life time.

Ok, let's say you're not single, you're married, perhaps with kids, like me, depending on your profession, you'll work, minimum eight hours per day. And one bad thing about Canada be say, if dem employ you to just come work and sleep, as in, your job description na to just come work and sleep, you go sleep that sleep, you go tire and even beg say you no do again and offer to resign grin. No time for lackeys bro or sis. What I'm saying is you'll do your job, and the most interesting thing is your pay-day is sacrosanct, bi-weekly, no jupiter can change it.

In other words, hardly will you have time for such frivolities, especially for someone coming from Lagos Nigeria, wey you know how you leave home- owo oni'ru, owo oni'yo grin, na Big Brother go come be your focus The least you could do is watch premiership on weekends or watch netflix on your your phone while transporting to work inside Go-Bus or Go-Train grin. My opinion

I don't argue with kids and only a jobless person will spend so much time doing research on bb to know how many countries ar airing it like seriously?

Can you tell us the HDI, Level of poverty, the economy of Canada
Can you please show us Canada cities.
Can you please show us their institution structures
Can you please tell us how their standard of education is
Can you please tell us their lifestyle

Then lastly, make a research, whenever they do convocation or best students graduating from various institution, check the prize given to them compare with ours (that's if they even give you anything)

This is unnecessary, and a waste of page.

Pls don't always be a in hurry to pour out your frustration about the country, the fact that you're angry doesn't mean other part of the country or industry won't move, the fact that your government isn't doing well doesn't mean you're not making money or living well in your own comfortable way.

Life goes on, you don't have have to like BBN, but it's a show and someone is making money from it, other Nigerians that knows how to take advantage of opportunities are also making money from this BBN, and even the government too.

The fact that Naija is not doing well doesn't mean everybody should stay stagnant.

I hope your understand my point.

How many whites do watch big brother compare to blacks?

do you think all white men will waste their precious times on a show that wouldn't add any impact to them? most of the whites that watch the show are the elderly ones or those who have free time, whites don't even vote the way Nigerians does, they know what to do with their money.
Monitoring spirit of white people.

Funny, your analogy doesn't make sense, whether they work per hour or not, there are some people that won't still watch the show.

In Naija here, after work, some people still watch it so what's the difference?

Lol I don't understand Nigerians..... Entertainment shows shouldn't be blamed for Nigeria problems...

Who wants to be a millionaire was on for years.. Yet Nigeria get problems

Gulder ultimate search didn't make anything better

MTN project fame

Cowbellpedia

Maltina dance hall

And host of other lovely shows have graced our TV screen and it didn't agitate youth to protest... That's to tell that entertainment isn't responsible for Nigeria or youth problems... The sponsors continue pumping money into BBN because they are gaining from it...

Let's just stop this blame game... If you want to watch it fine and if you think you are too busy or finding solutions to fix Nigeria problems then go ahead stop dragging people on how they decide to spend their time as long as they don't beg from you to survive... Just live and let others live...
