The Governor of Niger state, Governor Abu Sani Bello directed his Chief of Staff, Alh. Ibrahim Balarabe Kagara to hold a meeting with ADC (Anti Drugs Consumption) private security organization to discuss how to complement the efforts of security agencies in checking the activities of hoodlums who take advantage of the peaceful nature of Minna to exercise their wickedness on the unsuspecting public.

The partnership is expected to improve the security situation of the state especially in respect to petty criminals who are in the business of snatching residents’ valuables, stealing of streetlights batteries and panels, breaking of vehicles and shops.

With ADC security, the Governor is sure that the best solution is to engage them so that people can go to their houses and sleep soundly without fear.

The Chief of Staff who delivered the Governor’s message, is particularly dismayed and troubled by the unruly behavior of young people who use crude weapons against each other in the name of yan daba. He disclosed that Governor Bello has made it clear that such criminal activities shall not be tolerated and anyone caught would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Further, the Governor stressed that the private security must operate within the confines of the law, and in conjunction with relevant security agencies. As such all apprehended criminals by ADC should be promptly handed over to security agencies.

The pilot scheme will begin from Minna and it will subsequently be extended to all the 25 Local Government Areas of the state. His Excellency has directed modalities be worked upon for immediate action. Every security organisation to be engaged will be thoroughly profiled.

Responding, the Commandant of ADC appreciated the Governor and pledged to do more in making sure that the security of the state capital is improved and the sanity Minna is known for is restored.
