What am after is not whether he can marry her but whether he is not simply an opportunist. Before she commits herself let them plan a holiday were he'll come and spend time with her at his own expense. If he gives any excuse then she should forget it he is not real.

Why is it that someone who is a dentist and police officer is seen as having more baggage than someone who has had 4 kids from different men? Why do most women like to blur their baggage?
Dentist/Police Officer, no kids, no baggage,   portrayed as a villain
OP/MSc                      4 kids from different men, baby mama drama,   too many baggage;  portrayed as a victim.

@ potato and xxTosinvillex you guys really come across as smart but i'm really suprised a Police dentist as a profession is a wonder to you. If truly you doubt that someone can be a Police officer as well as a dentist then i have to start taking your contributions on nairaland with a pinch of salt or less.

Phew! Ok he studied in the uni as a dentist and after graduation he applied to join the police force. His application was accepted and after completing the police recruitment process, he was commissioned as a polce officer and seconded to the Police hospital to practise as a dentist.
Not all police men chase after thiefs, but their individual jobs are aimed at achieving thesame purpose, an effective police force (though that is a topic for another day).

Ok, I understand.
My last question before I contribute to the issue @ hand. . .so errrrm is 'HE' really you?  undecided

Now @ the topic: well as an American I can tell you that it all depends really, on your ambitions
and what you want in a woman. For some American women, dating a foreign man is their dream and some
will even be willing to do what ever it takes to have that man brought over to the states to be with them.
Others are very picky and the mentality here in the states is that if it is not 'first world' (U.S. Canadian or UK)
"success" then it is not good enough as they believe third world men cannot provide for them. With these kind
of ladies they would prefer that you can prove that you are not planning to live off of them
by applying for citizenship and applying for work here.

Now you mentioned a woman with 4 kids from a previous relationship. Well getting to the states and being with
her would be one obstacle that the two of you would overcome but actually playing the role of "step father" to
American children?. . .*scratches head*. . .errmm you SURE about that?  grin grin

is it so hard to understand that he is a dentist that works in a police hospital?? undecided
i am sure there are officer engineers, officers reverend fathers etc etc
However, like some1 pointed out, i'd say the woman should worry less abt the guy's sincerity, but the guy needs to worry more abt her baggage!! haba, 4 kids??!! c'mon!!

^^^^^^^^typical, can't take correction without trying to put the person on the spot. Because i corrected your ignorance, does not make me the person. I know i have unleashed the dragon, and i will be more than willing to run before ignorant venom and fire is released

And how am I being ignorant? listen, good luck on your 'journey'.
I wasn't trying to be funny and you NEVER corrected me. You simply answered a
question that myself and a few others BEFORE ME asked. Your defensiveness is enough to answer my
question that is: YOU are the guy in question and frankly you are not ready to hear the truth. Do your thing.

C'mon ma, 4 kidz is so fcukkin' much for mah niqqa cos it aint easy for mi nukka playin' d real dad's role wit those kids.

But sometimes i'll say this american lifestyle sounds so absurd to me with the way some of their men just produce kids without caring how their ex and kids are doing after a lil break up.

Now only for my 9ja man to move over to states to starting playing their real daddies role who doesn't even know when those kids were conceived al in d name of citizenship or greencard [condition]

chai naija boys don suffer al in the name of greener pastures.

Most Nigeria men without kids would have reservation about marrying someone with kids especially 4.

So if they have kids together its basically 4 + x.

How many men would want to do that.

There must be an added incentive for the man to want to get married to her. Is the man in the US already? Is he a US citizen? How and when did he come in to the US

I am not sure I understand what you mean especially the parts in bold.

Most Nigerian men who dont have kids wont want to get married to a woman who already has baggage (4kids)

Whatever money you make instead of spending on 3 Father, mother and 1 child you spend it on 7 Father, mother, 4 kids + 1

Makardi? Zita rako unonzani?
