The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad(FSARS) has become a menace to the Nigerian society, particularly, the Nigerian youth.

Many Nigerians have been victims of extortion or illegal arrest by this arm of the Nigerian police, established to fight robbery and cybercrime but has
now become a terrorising group to young Nigerians, especially on account of their appearance or the items they possess.

While these “Officers” have arrested many youths for appearing in a certain way or for possessing “luxury” items like posh cars, expensive phones
and laptops, many Nigerians also have condemned them for indecent dressing unbefitting of law enforcement agents.

Many of the SARS officers are identifiable only by jackets and caps which bear the dreadful letters “SARS” on it, and numerous victims who have
encountered them said they had mistaken the officers for armed robbers, partly because of their inappropriate dressing, and their uncivil approach to
the citizens.
