Government reacts after Nigerian is burnt alive in Libya
“The young man was burned alive, in yet again another senseless crime against migrants in the country.”

The Nigerian government on Thursday reacted to the death of a Nigerian who was burnt alive in Libya on Wednesday.

Three men stormed a factory in Tripoli, doused a Nigerian worker in petrol, and set him on fire, according to a statement by the Libyan interior ministry, CNN reported.

In a statement, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission called on the Libyan authorities to investigate and prosecute those behind the killing of the Nigerian, describing it as “bestial” and “unacceptable”.

“In the meantime, the full identity of the Nigerian man set on fire by petrol has not been made known as investigations and interrogations of the suspected attackers who are in custody are ongoing,” the statement reads.

Federico Soda, UN’s chief of mission in Libya, also reacted to the incident on Twitter.

“Those responsible must be held to account,” Mr. Soda said. “We are horrified by the killing of a Nigerian migrant worker in Tripoli, Libya by three men yesterday.

“The young man was burned alive, in yet again another senseless crime against migrants in the country.”

There should have been a campaign started just after Ghadaffi was murdered, to warn Nigerians how wicked and racist the Libyans are! It should be a ECOWAS effort as Libyans hate black Africans generally, not caring which country they come from!

For the murderers to do this so openly and brazenly, it shows a level of fearlessness and may point to them being top members of one of the rebel grps that took over the country after the Ghadaffi murder! You can forget any hope of them being captured, tried and convicted for murder......they own the country!

yeah, we taught them how to do it. when we do it ourselves why won't outsiders take advantage?
we are our own undoing, we have go as far as doing our dirty linens in the glare of public, when outsiders humiliate a Nigerian, we are first to make mockery of ourselves.
why won't this happen? they know this is the only thing that brings us joy (seeing our brothers being humiliated, maim and killed).
this where we have taken ourselves.
