Never give up on something you want because it's hard to wait but it's harder to regret. if studying medicine is your dream, age shouldn't be barrier but u will need to study very hard. I would advice u to also take school of nursing form too so that if medicine doesn't work, u will go for nursing to avoid another wasting of time and nursing too is a good course.

Medicine and surgery is probably one of the most expensive course to study in Nigeria. You said you don't have sponsor yet you want to study a course that requires lots of money.
Lots of you daydream a lot ignoring realities. Since 2015,if you had learned a skill like hair dressing or fashion designer,you would have your own apprentice now. Wake up to your realities,some go to university and died there,not everyone will go to school. You can be anything you want with your SSCE certificate. Learn a skill,be a job provider and go for maybe part time later.

Someone on this forum will sponsor her to study medicine? Chai Thanks for proving me right. I said it many of you are living in delusional grandeur. Instead of you to face reality and plan with it. Even the Bible said faith without work is dead.
She can still be a doctor or surgeon or anything she desires. But life is not balance. She shouldn't keep waiting for the time she will be admitted as a medical student. She can start something with her life now. She can apply for less competitive and costly course,learn a skill etc. Let's be real here .

let forget money aspect. getting admission for medical course requires high cut off mark. instead of wasting your time writing jamb over and over again just pick a less competitive course.
i know someone that did jamb 4 times because of medicine course it was the fifth time he picked biochemistry and got admission.
he is now working in a government hospital at Abuja

There is something called will to power, what that guy was openly saying was that she should forget it. Of course I am pessimistic, but I believe in will, once you have the will to get what you want as long as you breathe you have the chance to get that thing.

I wrote my first waec and neco in 2015 but i had d7 in my physics both results and the registration was expensive so i had to rewrite both exams which was expensive and i can't register another waec when i have a good result already, medicine and surgery is the course i love so much not for work security or to be called a doctor no is because i have passion for it but i made a tough decision last year when i used my waec (science) to apply economics which is a social science course it didn't work for me, am just so scared not to make a decision that will affect me in the future. I don't like any other science course that was why i applied for economics because am now into buying and selling.

It's good to follow one's dream but when it comes to education in Nigeria, majority get courses that they wouldn't have first imagine. But that is not to say someone can't get what he/she wants. Never get discouraged by people. We have different destinies. The course you read will not decide who you are going to be in the future. You can read a terrible looking course n still come out good. Education in Nigeria is terrible n d standard keeps dropping day by day. That's why from 200Level most students will be wishing n hoping to just finish. But all in all good luck in your endeavors.

Girl, buckle up. Which old? lool. You ain't old at all girl. Assuming you've read stories of some great people you might have known what I'm talking about

The decision lies solely with you. If you really want this, go for it. There are *reputable* jobs or services you could offer in order to raise something for a period that should be able to jumpstart your education in case funds aren't forthcoming at all(but by God's grace, help will come your way. Amen).So while at that, first things first,, ensure you pull most part of your efforts at reading like mad. Study as hell, babe—study just like your life depends on it, improve yourself thoroughly on the academic aspect of your life and I mean THOROUGHLY—just do it. Get books, read. Utme recommended books, waec recommended books, get them. Get them and read. Improve on your English, both spoken and written(please do). Any books you see that can help you with all sorts o'level exams to get to your target, get them and read. Self-help or knowledge-gaining books, get them also and read(this should be on a 1 self-help bookread to the 5-o'level texts study format you can adopt). Give yourself a time limit for this goal, probably a year dedicated solely to improving yourself & preparing yourself for whatever stringent exams you are going to face to get your desired course, in the university(and also gathering funds). It surely wouldn't be easy as it seems but since you know what you want for yourself and the reward that surely comes with the efforts, this shouldn't be anything considered overbearing to you while at it. And the reward far outweighs your efforts, the reward you get at the end will almost make you forget all what you had to go through to get what you wanted for yourself. So consider it a light sacrifice compared to what you might end up paying later if you don't endeavour to make a try. And please, do not entertain any form of distractions whatsoever. Discipline yourself to the maximum, no distractions at the face of serious work. Also, don't let anyone take advantage of you in this time of need you are. Be smart. Be hardworking. You are on your way to the top.

Plus: You can listen to advice from friends, but any advice centered on discouragement, I'd advice you to not argue with such. Just smile, take it with a good nature and focus on doing what you know and feel is best for you(related or not to the advice). You can trust your guts with things like this. And reduce friends for now, at least(you really don't need letting in everybody you come across on personal plans or steps you are about to take, in your best interest). Be very selective with friends. Do away without remorse, the ones you feel constantly give you negative vibes/energy.

So, move now. And best of luck on your journey to greatness.
