meine: Uncle Charity, biko don't derail this thread and you should stop asking people where they are going as if they are babies. I share major1p view,You've opened similar threads elsewhere so why start it here? I noticed how you use foul words on members on other threads which shows immaturity those who patronise you can do so at their own risk anyways. @ Meine: U be comedian. I had look at the person's user name if it is Uncle Charity. You cracked me up I can't stop laughing. 1 Like |

Hi @rockchic, I also renewed via drop-box, and what I did was to send Lagos and Abuja embassy e-mails stating that I intend to use the visa for childbirth. I got the standard replies from both of them. All the best. |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by GenoMI: 10:05am On Sep 22, 2014 |
This is the reply I got from Abuja: Dear xyz, Thank you for your inquiry. Before you travel to the United States to have a child you should make the appropriate preparations, including an appointment with a healthcare provider, detailed information about where you will receive your medical services, and an estimate of the financial costs. Immigration officials may ask for this information upon your arrival. Healthcare in the United States is expensive, including costs associated with child birth, and can escalate quickly if there are complications. You are expected to pay all costs associated with the medical services received. Retain an itemized statement of account from your healthcare provider that outlines all of the charges from your care and receipt of your payment. We hope this information is helpful to you. Congratulations to you and your family. Best Regards, Consular Section rockchic: @Genomy and @ MAlory, please what is the standard response? sorry for asking pls |

hello beautiful parents. I have been a silent follower of this forum for some months now (running to 18months) b/cos I had to read from page 0 - 146 and also because I lost my pregnancy last year and lost interest. I intend to discontinue my family planning this month and I renewed my visa last week Friday. I have some questions for the mamas, 1. Do I need to inform the embassy of my intentions once am pregnant 2. My husband wants me to travel @ 5months which I don't think is possible cos of my work 3. When is the best time to travel ( this is my 5th Pregnancy) and ve had complications in the past coupled in serious ruptured ectopic pregnancy last year. Thank you |

Hi guys, Am a 25 weeks old pregnant mama. I intend to have my baby in houston texas and i have contacted DR Famogbun. My pproblem now is accomodation. Someone informed my husband and i abt a place called Precious Cedars Maternity home where they provide specialised care for preggy mommas before and after they have their babies. You pay abt 1500 usd for accomodoation, transport, feeding and other complimentary services. They care for u at delivery if u dont have ur mom or hubby with u? Has anyone heard of dem or any similar organization? I also wanted to know how the moms out there who have had deir babies are able to cope alone without any help while abroad. |

@uchey. Ask Dr. Fagbohun if he has any idea about accommodation since you will be using him. |

My Peeps. Im also reporting live from Atlanta. Came in on Saturday. POE was very straightforward. The guy just asked if i had set up my doctors appointment i said yes, asked how much i had i told him and he said ok. Sent me to secondary inspection. The sec guy asked again how much i had and i told him, why i chose to have a baby in the US, i answered for better medical care as i had lost some pregnancies. Na im the guy tire, quickly stamp me 6 months . The issue now is that im in the south of georgia and discovering that the transport system in this zone is entirely cab or personal car reliant. No buses, trains etc... So my beloved Gwinnet is about 50minutes away. Im now considering Piedmont which is much closer. Does anyone have details of affordable doctors that birth there? Pls help a sister out. All the best to every. Ciao! @ ajoke01 aww! You are in Atlanta too, so are you using north side or gwinnett. One of us here just put to bed at gwinnett last week and she was raving about the services,..... I'm sure she would share when she's fully settled. [/quote] 3 Likes |

Hello Good people, Please I need your advice. I went to the US to give birth. The issue is I paid 30% of the bill and promised to pay install mentally but my account person at the hospital had not picked or return my calls whenever I want to make payment. And I was contacted by Apex insurance .I did test payment to confirm if it’s not fraudsters but still no evidence of payment. I did my full payment to them. An scared now to continue but I have call the apex guys and they confirmed my payment and said, they have sent a letter to my resident in NJ. My Husband is really worried because he initially insist I go to Ohio to give birth because their fees were low but I persuaded him NJ was better because my families are there. now I got a bill of 25k and after negotiation was reduced to 18k . Mom 11k ,Baby 8k Only paid mine. He wants to pay for his son ‘s bill now . He contacted the hospital ,they said, they don’t have the account with them. My Husband wishes to renew his visa now so he can go to the hospital make his sons bill, what are his chances ? |

hello All, Just Called Delta Lagos ticketing office @+234 1 279 9000 and they confirmed a promo is ongoing for Lagos-houston and this expires at 16th october 2014 thus all flights goes for N230K(Lagos-Atlanta-Houston i.e Atlanta POE) All that have been waiting for summer ticket prices to wear off, this is the opportunity to grab. Other airlines are also running similar promos such as united but note that the closer the date of travel is, the more the price i.e promo price may not apply thus I have checked that if you book for one month from today, then you would enjoy the riddiculous rates 2 Likes |

@ijaymama, @santa2 and anyone who used Dr. Le, I just got off the phone with his office and was billed 2700. I hope I can renegotiate when I get there like some of u did but I have booked an appointment. The issue is they say they don't give any email correspondence to back up dr cost or confirm appointment. I believe these docs are crucial at POE. What do I do? Does anyone have a cost breakdown that I can work with for POE? SOS!!!!!!! |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by anonymousmum: 4:50pm On Sep 22, 2014 |
kykes: @ijaymama, @santa2 and anyone who used Dr. Le, this was my identical situation...i believe we should be able to beat Dr. Le's price down. What I did was to get correspondence from some other Dr in the houston area that I will use for POE I got correspondence from Dr. Fabgohun, and Dr Sayegh...has full break down that you can use for POE. |

Slowly but surely, we are getting there! Please yet another request directed to those who have scaled POE with food items- I know there is some US website/internet link that states what is not allowed, but in real life, what and what is allowed? Initially I was on the school of thought of no food items, but mehn...in order to avoid a miserable 2-3 months. best to plan ahead Thanks house. |

kykes: @ijaymama, @santa2 and anyone who used Dr. Le, @ Kykes: How much does the hospital Dr. Le use charge? Also is the 2700 for CS or vaginal delivery? And were you told of some of the other costs like pediatrician, extra days, circumcision etc? 1 Like |

ashleybaker: @ashleybaker 2700 is for CS multiple birth. It covers weekly doctors visits, fees, tests n 2 visits after birth. Dr. Le uses methodist houston which is 3100 for womanly delivery and 4800 for CS. I'll follow up with the hospital to see what their fees cover. |
