Hello mamatobena and beauty, that's not applicable to all hospitals. I had my baby in MIHS and stayed in d hospital for almost 48hrs b4 my baby was born. D two nights starts to count after d baby is born and not when u get to d hospital. A lady gave birth there also by 11pm and her 2nights started counting from the next day cos to them any delivery after 10:30pm to 11pm is not counted as one night (a nurse told me that).

Also as regards labour and contractions, in

As regards d freebies, it varies with nurses. But we got stuffs like medela manual breast pump, baby blankets, diapers, wipes, formula, belly band, baby clothes, nipple cream etc‎

. Thanks. I guess it is dependent on the hospital. It is well

Yes oh! The arik thing, they have reviewed their policy, it's now 34 weeks. I saw it on their website and i called the office to confirm. You can travel from 30-34 weeks with your fit to fly (doctor's report). You can check it our your self: http://www.arikair.com/health-matters

Since it's on their website, you have a strong reason against them if they bounce you. For now, arik is the most affordable and they have a good POE, New york.

Dinawe, please did you have your baby in the US on your previous visa? Then how did you go about the dropbox the next time as per documentation and all? Did you have to present any documents?

@twizzie Hmm. It somehow seems the VO in your mums case wasn't sure. I'm not surprised because I also called the helpline on their website before reapplying to find out of I was eligible and was told I was not. If not for the information @ifax provided I would have also gone through the long interview method. Well it's good we have this forum to learn and share. Thanks a lot.

Hi GenoMi, sorry to bother you. Please how did you go abt the dropbox thing? I had a b1/b2 b4 pregnancy, had my baby, need to renew now. Please help

Hi dear, I used the dropbox for renewal as well. Fill the ds 160 form, print ur confirmation, pay your visa fees, go to dat 'schedule appointment page', a series of questions will follow. After answering them for eligibility, a dropbox confirmation letter will appear. Print the letter + ur payment receipt + ds 160 confirmation + 2 passport photos + intl passport and take to DHL. No additional document is accepted. 8000 naira to submit and return ur passport.

No I had a few left which I later did with her. Actually she prefers when itz done w her even though she ll accept d ones from home. Don't stress urself if u can't do all. The cost is exactly what u see on the price sheet she sent to you except for PAP smear.

At oakbend too, it starts counting from when you give birth. This was particularly helpful for me cuz my baby went to nicu for jaundice and we ended up staying 3 nights but it counted as 2 nights as I gave birth at 1am

As for freebies, I got two dozen pre-mix similacs, storage containers for breastmilk, a carton of newborn pampers diaper, about 5/6 blankets, two packs of maternity sanitary towels, all the onesies my baby wore at the hospital, socks and cap, an engraved metal spoon, baby wipes and some coupons which I never redeemed cuz I dint have time

Hello all,
Please i understand my baby would be given hepatitis B vaccination in addiion to vit K after birth. Please is it advisable to accept this vaccine? If the baby is given hep B would it not conflict with the one she/he will be given in Naija?

When you return to Nija, just let them know that your baby has received Hep B in the states. They will know how to schedule the remaining vaccines.

it was vaginal without complications, she had a baby boy, you know California is probably the most expensive state in the u.s if i'm not mistaken, my sister was going to birth in cedars sinai in California before I discovered this thread announced the bill cedars sent was about $28k all in all. As for me i'll rather go somewhere really affordable like ATL or PHX or TX than to go where I have family and i'll pay through my nose. I'll send you her hospital details, i've asked her for a comprehensive breakdown

God bless you Freddy27. I feel like hugging you right now. But my concern is this, is there any place on the form where i can say i want to have another baby there? And also state that i had a baby there and i paid all my bills. I just dont want it to be like I didnt state it. Although when i got my previous visa, i wasnt pregnant even though i mailed the embassy when i took in and decided to go. So im just worried about how to show i had the baby and paid all bills. Did you have to do that? Or they just renewed without issues?

Hi,

They have your records and you might likely be called for interview at your convenience on Monday or wednesday(anytime after 1pm I guess)

So pls package all your receipts, zero balance and all others. You have nothing to fear once you have all these documents.

This was my sisters case scenario. I guess that's the norm.

*big smile* I'm happy I could be of help. You don't have where you'll state childbirth. However, they might use their discretion to call you since they have ur record of childbirth. Keep all your receipts + zero balance statement. There's nothing to worry about. Our americana dream must be complete o...lol.
