He loves to see huge crowd.

Re: Bb Rally In Port Harcourt. Any Update? by PapaBrowne(m): 4:19pm On Mar 05, 2011
The crowd was so appalling! Buhari can only pull crowds in the thickest of the North West!!

Below are pictures from the rally in Nigeria's second largest city!!!

Jonathan at least pulls a sizeable crowd in the North!! But Buhari couldn't even get 1000 in Nigeria's second largest city!!

Children are the ones carrying placards but they surely wouldn't be voting on election day!!

That picture just made me laugh out loud.
Re: Bb Rally In Port Harcourt. Any Update? by Genbuhari3: 4:33pm On Mar 05, 2011
How many votes dey south south, south east compared to north west? North west is 19.8 million, north east is 10 million. south and south east combined is 15 million undecided the rally in port harcourt is just to get some votes to compliment what will come from the north and south west!

at least there was no stampede like GEJ's own rally there.

the beauty of the rally was AIT showing it live, and for the first time, we had Tunde Bakare showing his courage in criticing Jonathan on his ground! and so many Nigerians watched his inspiring speech!

that is all, we move to North East!

Time2think.

we will and we will compare notes in April. just wait and see.

wait for Ibadan before you start laughing. at least Sambo could not bring up to 5000 people to Jonathan Kaduna rally while Buhari brought hundreds of thousands of people.

Bakare is from the south west, so he fails to pull a crowd, please you have the stage to laugh at us!
And thanks for showing the photo of the most empty angle at the rally, you got the attention you wanted from me!

This is the problem Buhari will face at the polls!! He will win the North west by a landslide!! But GEJ will get at least a 40% of the votes in Kaduna and they will come from few Sambo supporters,Christains in Kaduna south and the numerous southerners residing in Kaduna!
Buhari might win Kano, but Shekarau will get at least 40% of the votes there! Now lets not forget also that there are so many Igbo residing in Sabon Gari, Kano and they will be voting enmasse for Jonathan!
In the North East, GEJ wins Taraba and gets at least 30-40% in Adamawa! Buhari shares the rest of Adamawa with Ribadu who hails from there! Borno and Yobe are ANPP strongholds, so we will see Shekarau poulling a strong showing there!
The North Central goes for GEJ without contest! Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Kwara and and a good number from Niger and Nasarawa will go to Jonathan!

In the south west Buhari will struggle for 25% in most of the states because it is a three way show where ACN and PDP are very strong!!

The big problem is that in the south south and south east, buhari gets nothing! 11 states without 25% is bad news by any count!

The only problem Jonathan would face in this election is getting the required 51%!! He will win the total vote count, he will get the requited 255 spread but he might have it hard getting the 51%!

PapaBrowne,

good you mentioned GEJ will find it hard to get 51%. and that is why, we the Buhari people have said the alliance with ACN has not collapsed.

there will be run-off, Ribadu and ACN will have no choice but to join CPC in dislodging PDP and the clueless Jonathan. Ribadu will get nothing from the North, just watch it!

while most GEJ supporters are giving him arm chair support, some of us in the  Buhari Camp have built excel models looking at the current situation (Nigerian economy, politics, infrastructure after 12 years of pdp), sentiments (pro-zoning in the North) to project what will happen in 2011 elections using the 2003 elections as bench mark, at least more credible than 2007 elections which 3 out of 7 supreme court judges ruled Buhari won!

see the attachment
the result shows there will be no clear winner!

Nice excel document!! Respect!! And I have mentioned before that the way the Buhari online supporters are going about their campaign is pretty impressive!

However, the postulations in the document are predicated on wishful thinking! What is the basis for the assumption that Buhari would score 13% in the south east and Ribadu will score 23%?? How did you come about giving Ribadu 18% of the votes in the south south and and Buhari 13%
This is not realistic, you know that right? Buhari scored less than 5% in 2003 despite the fact that he had a south Easterner as his vice, talkless of now when you have no Easterner on the ticket of both ACN and CPC! These postulations are just wishful!

Ok, another one! On what basis do you project that the CPC would win Benue state?? That is the height of wishful deception! You give CPC 46% of the votes in Benue?? Except you are not aware that Benue state is the most Southernly state of all the Northern states with almost 100% christian population! The postulation didn't even take into consideration the anger faced by Northern Christians as a result iof the Jos crisis!

Despite the wishful postulations, we still have Jonathan on 40%! If you adjust to reality and add other variables like party structure and rural votes, financial inducements and incubency factor, you would see that even that 51% would not be too much of a hard task for the Jonathan camp!!

^^^That was what Atiku said: and look where it got him.

Buhari's supporters tend to overplay the 19,803,689 votes of the NW while overlooking the strategic fact that for this election the SE and SS can be considered as one zone with a combined voting strength of 17,051,641: leaving a difference of 2,752,048. By winning in Lagos (6+ million votes) and Oyo (2+ million votes); GEJ simply wipes out that deficit. And also in the mix are the following
1) PDP will secure at least 25% of the votes in the NW but will CPC get up to 25% of the votes in the SS and SE?
2) Shekarau in Kano
3) Incumbent PDP governors of the NW
4) The mass illiteracy of the NW where voters willingly sell their cards for as much as N100.

The NC and NE are roughly balanced with 10,684,037 and 10,749,059 potential votes respectively. In the NE, Taraba and Adamawa are likely to go GEJ. . .offsetting any advantages that CPC may think to gain in the NE.

Buhari has poor strategic vision in terms of his electioneering campaign as shown by the following blunders:
1) By failing to build a coalition of opposition parties to provide a united front. In fact sure a coalition would have even helped to reassure those who think of him as an ethnic bigot.
2) By choosing a VP who will not help me secure votes outside the NW and thereby break the critical 25% in 2/3rds requirement.
3) By failing to rein in the more religiously reactionary elements of his support base thereby reinforcing the prevalent view in some quarters about extremism.

It therefore seems that Buhari's hopes are to force a run-off. This is unlikely because even if his losing margin is as small as 200,000 votes---so long as GEJ has 25% of votes in at least 24 states. Game over. After all, the NW that Buhari is banking on has 7 states; leaving PDP with 29 states to secure 25% of total votes and the SE & SS that he's neglected in his calculations have 11 states in which he will likely fail to secure a quarter of the votes.

Genbuhari3:

good you mentioned GEJ will find it hard to get 51%. and that is why, we the Buhari people have said the alliance with ACN has not collapsed.

The basis for your expectation of a runoff is flawed because it is based on the erroneous belief that for a candidate to win he must have 51% of the total votes. All he needs do is have more votes than the next candidate --- even if it is just 100,000 votes --- provided he has the required spread of at least a quarter in two-thirds of the states. You can easily confirm this by referring to the provisions of the constitution and historical antecedents: in 1979, NPN won with 33.7% of the total votes and in 83 with 47.5% of the total votes.
Secondly, you assume that in the unlikely event of a runoff, ACN will enter into alliance with CPC. Nothing stops them from going into an alliance with PDP instead.

By failing to reach out to the NC, SS and SE, Buhari has lost the elections.

Re: Bb Rally In Port Harcourt. Any Update? by Wadeoye(m): 7:53pm On Mar 05, 2011
Check out the attached photograph. The turnout was far better than expected. Nobody expected any south southerner to be bold enough to come out and associate with Bahari.

If GEJ got this level of crowd in Kaduna, I am sure he would be very happy - his VP is from Kaduna, The ruling party in Kaduna is PDP and despite all these, GEJ could still not pull 5000 people - the few people there worked out of the venue on him.

P/H is the strong hold of GEJ being a South Southerner, The ruling party is PDP. Despite that, Buhari pulled people out more than GEJ could do in the north.

The way the rally was organised, people were not allowed to stay close to Buhari to prevent any foul play. So anybody taking picture will need to position himself well to be able to capture the crowd.

You will be surprised what the outing will look like in Ibadan, here in Lagos, etc.

Generally, the rally in P/H scored more than pass mark.
