If poses were prophecies, one interesting photograph of the candidates during the signing of the peace accord in Ondo would have offered a relatable cryptic message. Akeredolu stood a little distance away, arms behind him, decked in a shirt, jeans and a fez cap – he appeared relaxed. Eyitayo Jegede was next, hands clasped in front of him, smiling to the camera – his pose radiated ‘anything could happen’, while Agboola Ajayi seemed to be consciously trying to avoid breathing the same air as his former principal; he chose instead to stand inches behind Jegede. That was October 6, 2020 — four days to the governorship election. THE CABLE 9 Likes 1 Share

Forget that power of incumbency, Mimiko flogged Agagu, an incumbent governor. PDP simply didn't pull enough crowd, they didn't appeal to people. The most important reason he won was because while others were sharing 1k, 1k5, my guy was sharing 3k. Funny thing is, na everyone of us go vomit the money one way or the other. When I told them that Ondo is not Edo! Edo people get sense but you see those people from cocoa farm, termite don chop their brain finish, Na only dobaale and owomida them sabi Yoruba land remains Yoruba land, they are not ready for anything positive change. Godfatherism , owomida and agberoism have finished Yorubas. Incumbents never lose election in Yoruba land because of dobaale and owomida, and remember their god Tinubu is also involved. Sorry Mazi Jegede, you didn't know your people before contesting 20 Likes 6 Shares |

Sparogatively, Nigeria and Nigerians don't know how an election should be conducted yet. Irregularities everywhere! In saner climes the video of Akeredolu throwing money to supporters should have disqualified him and others that did same, but, we are in Nigeria were electoral laws and safe practices are only operational in the books. I pity Nigeria! Anyways, Ondo election was relative peaceful, that's one thing to be cheerful about! 8 Likes 1 Share |
