Ondo 2020: Think Tomorrow - Bfa Tells Sunshiners, Thanks Party Members. by PRParty: 9:11am On Oct 12, 2020
The candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in the just concluded Governorship Election, Babatunde Francis Alli (BFA) has called on Sunshiners, home and abroad as well as residents of Ondo State to begin critical thinking about the future of the State, describing last Saturday election as a contest between a 'noble yesterday' and an 'undefined tomorrow'.

Babatunde who hosted the Executives of the PRP in Ward 1 and 2 Ode - Aye, in Okitipupa LGA, on Saturday night called on party faithfuls and indeed all ''Sunshiners to decide immediately whether to sustain dignity or embrace total ignominy''.

Speaking further to journalists, after the supposed result of the election was announced by INEC on Sunday, the visibly disturbed Babatunde wondered how the state, which was known for its ''OMOLUWABI'' status, now celebrates loss of moral identity and still claim to have a future. ''As a people, we are not likely to have any form of social-political sanity left for our children if something is not done very urgently''. ''A situation where a vote in a governorship election now costs between N5,000.00 to N15,000.00 leaves nothing to be desired of a people in terms of an enviable tomorrow. It is a rape of peoples franchise and an invitation to a bleak future''. ''We weren't brought up to celebrate stolen mandates, it's not in our upbringing to rape, let alone moaning in it'' he added.

He advised the people to begin critical rejigging of its collective values and advised those celebrating the gains of what he termed ''electoral depravity'', to remember that, ''although stolen bread is 'sweet' to the tongue, the mouth will not escape being filled with gravel''.

Speaking on way forward, particularly with INEC, Babatunde said, ''One would think that e-voting may help curb vote buying, but legislative lapses seem to continually make victims of fraud, out of our electoral system''.

On the performance of the PRP in the election. Babatunde said, ''Those who voted for the PRP did so on convictions, we paid no one a dime''. ''Those who sold their votes can now prepare to reap the fruits of their political ignobleness''.

He expressed his sincere appreciation to those who stood their grounds and voted for convictions in the election.
