Mekhane or Also known as The Broken God is an Elder God who is the God of Metal, Machines and knowledge.

According to the Myths, the Mekhane shared dominion over humanity with Yaldabaoth, the Broken God representing intellect and progress, while the Demiurge represented instinct and the more animalistic side of the humans for a short while Mekhane allied with Yaldabaoth to create Humanity. Yaldabaoth gave Humans their form and instinct while Mekhane gave humans Knowledge.

The followers of Mekhane were known as the Mekhanites, and overtime many civilizations started to become more civilized and progressive, which greatly angered Yaldabaoth, who wanted to bring humanity back to a more animalistic state she intended, however Mekahne stepped in to stop her From taking humans and turning them to animals.

This led to the occult war between the Mekhanites and the early Sarkites (followers of Yaldaboath), which caused the Bronze-age collapse. Mekhane Knowing a battle between two gods would lead to great destruction he chose to sacrificed himself to Trap Yaldabaoth.
Mekhane confronted Yaldabaoth during this war, and defeated the Demiurge by shattering himself into a "brass cage", trapping the other god in it to save humanity. His shattered pieces spread across the Earth, alongside his followers who would form the Church of the Broken God.

Today only pieces of him are found through out cosmos taking the name The Broken God. Many of these pieces would later be classified as different SCP-objects by the Foundation.

"Pity the Great Sorcerer King of Adytum, Who regards himself a god but an insect merely. Pity his Klavigar and proud Karcists, Who seek to rule the land but will all perish.

"Pity the followers of the great brass machine, Their master scattered still in pieces. Pity the mortals who know not about the dragons, Descendants of the same blood but will die in ashes."

My face went pale as the beasts roared, And I could hear the serpents shifting in darkness. The moon shed down a blood red light, As the mouthless prophet spoke once more.

You know I think they were talking in parables.
We are not the first Homo, but we are the first Homo sapien.
Sapien literally means wise. Other homo lacks it.

Mekhane/Sophia was the one that caused man to be wise in that epic story. I think our revolution from animals may be true. What differentiates us from other animals/homos is the sapien/serpent.
