Re: Igbo Traditional Marriage List by Nchara: 4:05am On Mar 08, 2011 |
Sounds more like a Calabar/Akwa Ibom trado marriage list, which, BTW, is not so different from what obtains in some part of Igboland. |
Re: Igbo Traditional Marriage List by MaziUche0(m): 4:13am On Mar 08, 2011 |
This is not an Igbo list. Sounds more Efik to me. If that man has an Efik woman, then he is BLESSED! Prepare to die before her though, because it will be hard to keep her off him each night. Either way, he should never have got the woman pregnant before marriage. |
Re: Igbo Traditional Marriage List by Nobody: 4:16am On Mar 08, 2011 |
what up with this igbophobia on nairaland is this not an EFIK/IBIBIO LIST that being said why did u bring it to politics from culture section ? what are you up to? secondly it is their tradition either you respect it or u leave their women alone ,customs is something only adults and matured minds understand and apreciate. people that have been marrying from there are not complaining. goin through the list its probably not goin to cost more than 100grand to get all those stuff, if you cant afford hundred grand well just keep hursling harder |

Re: Igbo Traditional Marriage List by jamace(m): 5:56am On Mar 08, 2011 |
This definately is not an igbo marriage list, probably an efik/anang/ibibio marriage list. On a serious note, what has tradition got to do with St. Remy, Star beer, Gordon gin and all those other "oyinbo" stuffs? I think these items were collected during the slave trade era or has marriage become another form of slavery? |

No wonder it's more easier for Armed Robbers, Fraudsters, Yahoo boys, kidnappers and Money ritualists to Marry an Ibo Girl than it is For an Hardworking Guy like me. |
Re: Igbo Traditional Marriage List by macjive01: 9:26am On Mar 08, 2011 |
Look it not really sell, it's kinda ego, pride thing. My cousin just got married, the young chap insisted on buying everything on the long list X 2. And that list is more expensive than this posted here ooh. |
Re: Igbo Traditional Marriage List by Biggoozz: 9:26am On Mar 08, 2011 |
The list is soo real and true, I have on my desk right now totalling an N500k. The bit of brief cases with N150k is unheard of n laughable tho. |

Re: Igbo Traditional Marriage List by Nobody: 11:19am On Mar 08, 2011 |
bermuda1:Oops ! You can't hide from us what we already know about ibo culture with regards to marriage.their list is the most expensive in the country ! |
Re: Igbo Traditional Marriage List by Nobody: 11:29am On Mar 08, 2011 |
~Bluetooth: In the grand scheme of things, what does it matter if the list is cheap or expensive. If you can't afford to marry Igbo wife, there are 249 other tribes in Nigeria for you to marry from. Why drink panadol for another mans headache or even crack your rib for another man's joke? |
