Chairman board of Directors at Century port and Terminals limited, Chief Ambassador Captain, Edward Yinkere has been coronated as a High Chief "the Ebedebamowei of Tarakiri Kingdom" in Bayelsa State. the coronation ceremony was done on the 6th of October 2020 in Toru-Orua by the Pere of Tarakiri Kingdom.

According to the spokesman of the throne, the Pere of Tarakiri coronated High Chief Amb. Edward Yinkere because of his philanthropic work he was been doing.

Over the decades, High Chief Amb Captain Edward Yinkere has assisted so many youths and women in the Kingdom in forms of scholarship and other benefits.

Who is High Chief Captain, Edward Yinkere?

Born on the 6th of October 1958 to High Chief A.O Yinkere From Angalabiri in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, & Mrs. Asima Eunice Ekine Ibialabo Briggs, from Abonnema in Akukutoru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

High Chief Edward Yinkere is a successful Marina that has worked in different aspect of the maritime sector. He was the General/Marine Manager in Tonbra Shipping (Nig.) Limited Warri, Delta State, from 1993 - 1998; Marine Consultant, Delta Shipping and Marine Services Limited Port Harcourt from 1998-1999; Marine Superintendent and Designated Person Ashore (DPA) at Hydro dive (Nig,) Limited Port Harcourt from 1999-2003.

He coordinated the towing of the FPSO Bonga to the Bonga field by “MV Far-Saltire, one of Fastad Shipping vessels and also headed the mooring of FPSO Sendge Berge @ Okwori Field, the mooring of a gas FPSO Berge Okoloba-Toru along Bonny River Respectively all belonging to Bergesen Worldwide from 2003-2009.

High Chief Capt Edward Yinkere has received several international and national awards for his service to humanity. He was awarded: Peace Ambassador by Universal Peace Federation; also awarded Rivers State Government Special Award and Ambassador of Peace and Goodwill; and then the Royal Elect & Stanop International Award as (Society Icon of Change @50) 2018 African Child Price for Integrity & Accountability Award, Proudly Ijaw National Merit Award as Marine Businessman of the Year 2019, Heroes of Ijaw Patriots of Excellence Award 2019, Ijaw Patriots of Excellence Award 2019, African Education Icons/Ambassador Award,  this is just to mention but few of his numerous awards.

He is presently the Chairman Board of Directors Century Ports & Terminals Limited, Port Harcourt, a position he has held since 2009 till date.
