The Staff presented to the King by State Governor is always kept and the traditional items given to King after seclusion are not the ones taken everywhere or on display.

The way I see things here is that, it is either the king is not being crown in a normal traditional way or either Lagos king is just more or less like a mayor. Or he has done something against the gods of the Land and it is backfired on him.
