Let's stop praising ourselves and let's talk about development and the way forward. If we place ourselves will be no different than the igbos.

A lot of us make mistakes especially with Nigerians we believe we have to be voted before we can develop our communities, this is the mistake with a lot of Nigerians in America and development are making that is why their citizens are suffering. If you look at the white people they develop their communities before thinking about even contesting for election. And because of this we Nigerians are kind of backwards because do people with real food for did nothing for us before they got there and after they got there they will do nothing for us. Go to any country in the world and you see Nigerians are at the bottom of the ladder most of our youth I just sitting at the side of the road killing themselves because we made wrong decisions. These people which are contesting they care nothing about the black man it is just their own pocket this is the problem with Nigerian politics wherever they are in the world. Every time in Britain South Africa you find Nigerian Communities during election once they are elected that is the end they do not care about Nigeria's anymore in that country

Let me inform you about the honest truth all over the world most Nigeria when is time to vote they go on the tickets that you are voting for in Nigeria with Nigerian interest as meeting me to get there they want nothing to do with Nigeria or Nigerian people. I have seen this in UK in Germany France Sweden Netherlands South Africa India Kenya Tanzania Botswana Malawi and where I am currently staying in Brazil. Once it is vote time they remember that they need a Nigerian people once after voting you don't even see them making a speech to Nigerian community or Nigerians in that country again

See as the ewu compile all the Yoruba names..
they want to go and try because Igbos are doing it meanwhile they don't have the Igbo-Spirit of always contributing to the development of their host.

We await the results..

Most of our leaders in Nigeria are above 50 and most of them doesn't have more than primary and secondary certificates . That is the reason they are selfish and they are bad leaders. You can't give what you don't have , what do you expect a primary school holder man to give?

You said the Igbos are not that accommodating and that's what I responded to.

We all know that because of the low density of Yoruba population in any part of the country apart from SW, it will be very difficult, almost impossible, to garner the kind of support and votes needed.

Has anyone ever been stopped from contesting?

Has any traditional ruler come out to say the kind of despicable nonsense the Oba of Lagos said?

That Oba deserves everything that happened to him and his palace, and more.
Lol... cheesy did you say low density of Yorubas in any part of the country? That is absolutely wrong. Let me deviate a little, do you know the population of Yorubas in the North and in South South ? Go to Rivers State for example Yorubas have so many communities over there places like Aluu, Ogbogoro, Omagwa, Eliozu etc. In the North apart from the natives and Ibos the Yorubas are next in population.
In Imo State for example go to places like Uruatta, world bank, in Imo State Yorubas are populated there. Enugu is not an exception...I can go on and on , you can also carry out your own research.
So if it is the population we have it but you won't be allowed to contest as ordinary councillor talkless of a bigger post and they tell you to your face that you are not from here.
That fact that the Oba of Lagos said his own openly doesn't mean Your own kings don't., they do! But that was very wrong of him.
No where in Ibo land will they allow you to contest if you are not a native. I have people who have tried it..even if we don't have the population the person contesting might be popular within the area so what stops him from contesting? It is up to them to vote him or not.
I will tell you a lot about Ibos, I lived for years with them, I speak Ibo and my wife is Ibo!

Most are yet to evolve beyond that tribal identity nonsense

That's why
Over the coming decades
They will
That's very true. Nigerians are not civilised to blur tribal lines yet.

Chief see ehn.

It's a very simple something.

Do you know how many votes it takes to win elections in a country like Nigeria for the post of a house of assembly member, senator or even local government chairman?

Look, do a bit of detailed investigation into what I'm talking about then you'll be aware!

That there is an Igbo man in the Lagos state house of assembly is because of the number of votes obtained during a particular election.

I wonder if you get what I'm trying to say.
