The 2020 IPL has been extremely bad for Chennai Super Kings, captained by three-time IPL champion Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The team is ranked eighth at the bottom of the points table with only 3 wins and 7 defeats in 10 matches.

For Chennai, the tournament is almost over now and the team management may take some tough steps ahead of the upcoming season. A few years ago the Chennai team had theorized that more experienced players than youngsters would work in this popular T20 league, but this year different conditions in UAE and maybe players like Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh before the tournament starts. The team is facing a lot of difficulty due to leaving.

However, the team will not have to wait a year for the 2021 IPL and before that Chennai will have to overcome all their weaknesses and regain their lost dominance.

Coach Stephen Fleming has already made it clear that the team had some big names but they could not perform to the best of their ability. He has made it clear that before the IPL to be held next year i.e. 2021, the team management will take some drastic steps and bring this big team back on track. He said that there is very little time left between next year and this year's IPL and he will take some big steps to strengthen the team between these months.

Fleming makes it clear that before the next season, some big players will be eliminated and a team full of youth and enthusiasm will be prepared.

These players can be outside

The name of Kedar Jadhav is at the top of the player who will not be part of this team next year. Jadhav has done nothing for the Chennai team so that he can be retained in the management team. This batsman has batted very poorly and has scored just 60 runs in 8 matches. Given his performance, not only Chennai but also any other team would not like to include Kedar in his camp.

The other player in this list will be Piyush Chawla, who may not be able to show the magic in the spin somewhere he was expected. Apart from this, Shane Watson may also be out of this team next year. Watson is a complete flop in batting this year if a few innings against Punjab and KKR are dropped.

Faf du Plessis and Ambati Rayudu may also fall. However, both have batted well in this tournament compared to other batsmen. And finally in this list will be captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni himself. Without Dhoni, the Chennai team cannot be imagined. But 39-year-old Dhoni is now unable to show that color with his bat somewhere. Although Dhoni has done a lot of agile and tremendous wicketkeeping as compared to other wicketkeepers and behind the wicket, he will still be the biggest contender for the team but continuous failure in batting is a matter of concern for Chennai and his fans
