As far as i can recall a dispute in terms of a contract is a civil case and should in no way involve detention.

Next time, if you see police customer, you go dodge. Abeg I don't want that type of customers, no time for manipulative drama .

A DPO is most likely chosen from SP Or CSP rank of police, and that rank earns over 250 -290,000 naira monthly.

Exactly, well he can possibly get the money through the target given to their various rank and file officers. Nigerian police force is full of unmitigated corruption. Some of them live like king's.

the detention amounted to brutality as it was an illegal one. As far as I know, the case is purely a civil wrong, so there was no need detaining the respondent. If it were a crime, then the detention would have been constitutional. The said DPO wrongfully used his status to flex muscles against the tailor known as the weaker party here.
All things being equal any form of punishment that ought be meted out to the respondent in case if he's found liable should only come from the court and not from the DPO.

He even forced him to sign an already prepared statement. Damn!
