SocialJustice:
Nice, this type of quality job does not exist anywhere in Delta state. Sapele Benin Road has split into 2 with many bad points. Nothing meaningful to show despite receiving highest federal allocation.

The problem with Delta and to an extent, Bayelsa roots back to the turn of democracy in 1999 and the damaging influence of very, very poor quality leadership in the persons of James Ibori and the late DSP respectively. Both failed to institute proper goverment rather relying on political patrimony to sustain themselves in power.

Naturally this requires huge quantities of resources to keep running. What we called government by settlement is now a pervasive sub-culture in both states in which an aspirant gets into power and 'settles' everyone else including those who should naturally oppose, thus killing off any semblance of virile democratic practice's, and truncating the resources of the state.

There you will see obscenely rich politicians and their lackeys in the midst of grinding poverty and a decayed environment. The Niger-Delta struggle has not helped matters but further created divisions amongst the people with opposing sides angling for the spoils of war at the expense of their collective progress.

It ius a terrible state of affairs that will take serious, sustained effort to overcome. Dernocracy came too early for those two territories and the subsequent effect can be likened to what obtains at the Federal level today with our entire earnings going to service debts and the rest supporting our over bloated civil service and psrticularly political office holders and their handbags.

Today for example all Nigeria is crying out loud about the humongous amounts appropriated for the upkeep of the Legislature. Few will remember it s roots in the political misadventures of the Obasanjo years where he actively monetised legislation to get his way. Such culture is today so strong, no one can dare bell the cat that has grown into a 400 pound feline that will devour all who are mad enough to try taming her.

Such are the fortunes and future of Delta State. It may take a generation to change the narrative and give power back to the people unless someone is brave enough to end it....very unlikely.

IMHO Aba looks better developed than the Rumuola, Ogbunabali and Artillery parts of Port-Harcourt. The housing in those areas are very poor. Flyover is necessary based on traffic necessity which Port-Harcourt has more traffic challenges.
