Well, Lagos has more population than Kano.

But the problem is interest & bribery.

Please everyone look at that map what do you notice. The southern part of of the country is extremely fractured. As the state creation was done by northerners, was this a deranged divide and rule tactic. Just take a look especially at the southeast and see how fractured it is.

The last Population Census says Kano is more Populated.

This Population Census they intend to carry out next year will yield no result unless it is computer-generated, like thumbprints data, etc.

If they don't do it that way, 12-yr-olds will still vote.

Dem mad ni? undecided
How will Kano be populated than Lagos

These people just wanna cornered everything to themselves.
They want to be allocated biggest share of FAAC (as per population), they want FDI to be coming to their side (as per population).

I don't blame them, if not for our useless southern presidentss.

That means this Population Census must be thorough.

If its not computer-generated, with bio data, thumbprints, etc., Lagos will not come Second, you can place a bet.

Because most southerns don't vote.

Na wa oo. The North are just manipulating everything to their favour.

They only have the landmass, they don't have the figures. In Niger state, some indigenes don't know where their local government starts from or end.

Those we send to Abuja are dunderheads now....tey tey.

The strength of the North is in their togetherness. They might disagree due to party affiliations but things that concern the region are unanimous.

After the ENDSARS issue, did you read their communique?
It was unanimous.

Down here in the South, "skull-miners & baby-factories-people" (apologies to NL-tribal stalwarts) who claim to be more literate are failing themselves and looking for whom to blame.

The educated North will vote in line with educated Nigerians and in that case we will all vote someone that we all embrace the winner no matter where he comes from. We will no longer vote because he is Muslims or Christians. Neither would we vote because he is north or south.
Lol
Is it not the educated ones that are all over social media disagreeing everyday?
Nothing will change please.

Far from truth Electoral college goes with population of state, if Nigeria operate Electoral college Kano and Lagos will always determine who win the Election. The political riggers will concetrate on that two state.

It will have been more easier to rig. Instead sharing billions among the electorates, you now have few people to bribe.

Here is what you don't understand.

The North West have 7 States with 21 senators etc. Highest in the country.

The South East have 5 States with 15 senators. The lowest in the country.

How Can Southern Nigerians make change?
Eyaaa, and Nigeria has a total of 12 states with 36 senators.

@OP, quite the opposite. unfortunately the electoral college is one of the huge downsides of US elections. No other constitutional democracy that I know of runs this model.

California for example has 55 electoral votes, Texas and New York have almost 30 each. A president needs only 270 votes. This has led to the emergence of so-called swing votes / states. A democratic presidential candidate will only focus on areas where he is sure of winning rather than campaign to the entire country. I.e. places like Wyoming and Alaska have little electoral value (only 3 electoral votes) so there’s no point campaigning there.

So imagine a Nigeria where the presidential candidate only visits some states to campaign. States like Bayelsa, Taraba, Jigawa don’t get any attention cause they have little electoral votes.

This will result in far less representation in Nigeria as a candidate only needs to win the most populated states to cross the line. It also means you can win an election without achieving the majority vote in 2/3 of the states which will it constitution requires for fairness.
