@Maclatunji,it's AtreidEs. I don't necessarily have to be a writer to be a critic,but,as it so happens,i do write. Sadly,i don't write love poems much-mostly because i haven't experienced romantic love yet and writing about it seems kinda false. I always feel like i'm not getting it right,like i'm projecting an idea of what i imagine it to be rather than what it truly is. Plus,i almost always get writer's block when i try to write a love poem. I'd much rather write about angst and fantasy(magic,prophecies etc)and all that lovely dark stuff than write a love poem.
And i don't have to write Love poems to know that lines about Adam and Eve are pretty corny.

Can you love someone you have never seen in the real world? (I seriously doubt), my opinion. You could be attracted, but Love has to be the most abused word of all time.

Atridas sticks in my head when I see your username Atreides. I am a writer too, let us see your poems before you critic above-average, woman-blushing causing poems of Mr. uyi iredia.

It's like you're not getting my point.
My point is,i don't have to be a writer to be a critic. The fact that i happen to be one is of no consequence.
I did not say his poems were bad-because they're not. Some of them were pretty darn good,if i do say so myself.
However , i found the lines about Adam and Eve to be corny. I don't have to prove that i can write better than he can to offer an opinion of his work.
Even if i couldn't write worth c.rap,i'd still have the right to call some lines corny or over-used if they seem that way to me.

Lines about Adam and Eve are over-used. That's  my opinion.
However,Uyi wrote a lot of good stuff too. That's another one of my opinions.
One opinion doesn't take anything away from the other.
