How To Get Healthcare Jobs In Nigeria by WINEDGE2: 2:21pm On Mar 18, 2011
In Nigeria today, despite the fact that the country has insufficient health manpower locally, it is still common to find healthcare professionals seeking for healthcare jobs or those of them employed are in actual fact,under-employed. This is in a situation where healthcare organizations are also seeking for the same healthcare professionals and are infact ready and willing to pay more. Why is this so? This because there is a disconnect between the two parties. What is to be done and how? Join me as we explore this issue in greater detail in subsequent articles. Thanks.

Welcome friends! So who are healthcare professionals and where do they work or rather where should they be working? Healthcare professionals are those who work in healthcare organzations or organizations allied to healthcare with the sole purpose of assisting their clients achieve and maintain optimum health. Optimum health is important to individuals and society because with out it, all other aims of life can not be actualized. After all ,only the living make dreams happen! Thus healthcare is intertwined with the economic welbeing of individuals and society. The GDP( Gross Domestic Product) of Nations is linked or interrelated with the health status or systems of Nations.
Back to our question: Who are healthcare professionals and where do they work or where should they be working?Healthcare professionals include those who directly provide healhcare services e.g Medical Doctors, Nurses, Laboratory Scientists, Pharmacists, Radiographers, Physiotherapists, Rehabilitation and Social workers. They also include business professionals-marketers, client service executives, accountants, administrators ,medical statisticians and consultants who most times work behind the scene to to ensure that healthcare services are actually provided to clients- care receivers or in hospital parlance, patients. With out these set of professionals, healthcare will not be efficiently provided.
Where do healthcare workers work or rather, where should they be working? Join me on this page on wednesday to explore this very interesting issue.
The week is young. Enjoy it!
Thanks.
