The CNN report on Lekki toll gate- My response by OA.

I have spent time to read the CNN report and watch the CNN video on the Lekki events of Oct 20.
It is my intention to provide an objective response. I will be speaking as a Patriotic Nigerian.

@ishakaa @ApanpaOlasumbo

First, we must admit that whether the CNN report is truthful or falsehood, it has the potential to inflict devastating damage on image, goodwill of our military and our country Nigeria. Many people worldwide will believe the CNN story simply because it is from CNN. Brandname!

My findings and analysis below. My objective again, is to establish truth and separate fact from fiction.

1. CNN report vs BBC report.

The CNN report is at complete variance with the BBC report.
BBC had a reporter on ground who witnessed the events and reported that soldiers fired shots in the air. CNN did not have reporters on ground but reported shots were fired into the crowd.

Who do we believe?

The BBC reporter that was present and witnessed the events or CNN reporters that were thousands of kilometers away and only relied on third party information from the protesters.
The choice is yours to make.
We need to find the truth so Nigeria can heal!

2. Blank vs Live Ammunition.
Nigerian Army claimed and maintained they fired blank bullets into the air.
CNN has categorically stated that the bullet casings in possession of CNN are from live ammunition. The following questions therefore begs for answers;

a. CNN needs to prove that the live shell casings they have examined were expended and fired at the toll gate by the Nigerian Army. In other words, are the CNN live bullets from Lekki toll gate and were they fired by Nigerian Army.

The issue at stake is a very serious one and we need to establish truth beyond all reasonable doubt. The character, the unity, the integrity of the world’s most populous black nation is at stake. We need facts, evidence beyond all reasonable doubts.
Please .@cnni take this challenge and provide answers to above question

3. Testimony of Elisha on Victor Sunday Ibanga death.
CNN provided graphic images of the death of Victor and provided video interview of Sunday, claimed to be Victor’s brother.
In the interview, Sunday said “Someone picked my brother’s phone and called me”
It is fair to ask how did a stranger that picked the phone know you are his brother of the deceased. Most phones have an average of over 100 contacts in the directory. How did this stranger identify the right number to call. We need answers.

Furthermore, CNN will need to prove that the graphic image of Victor Ibanga was taken at the toll gate on Oct 20. There is no background structure or cultural images to place this image at Lekki toll gate. Why is the picture devoid of background images?

Finally on the subject of Elisha and Victor, CNN needs to tell us why Elisha has not presented himself at the judicial panel to report the death of his brother, Victor. There are many lawyers in Nigeria, including Femi Falana, SAN willing to represent Ibanga family pro bono at the tribunal.

The right and logical course of action is for the Ibanga family to head to the judicial panel, and not CNN! Except the objective is that of mischief.
In addition, why did the Ibanga family not take up the challenge of N1.3 million reward for verifiable picture of death Lekki. Patriotic Nigerians including myself under leadership of @BayoAdedosu donated this money in an attempt to establish the truth. No one came forward.

4. Shots fired into the Crowd.
CNN categorically stated that shots were fired into the crowd from AK47 military rifles.
Firing shots directly into the crowd of protesters, it is expected that a stampede and mass deaths will be the outcome. Why was there no stampede and mass deaths. I do not believe that the protesters are super human beings.
The sound of gun shots is enough to make most people have wet pants.
Why was there no stampede if shots were fired into the crowd? Why did the BBC reporter say shots were fired into the air only?

We must separate fact from fiction in order that Nigeria can heal. CNN claimed they interviewed over 100 protesters and family members. Why did CNN not encourage these people to present themselves at the judicial panel to provide needed testimony under oath to establish the truth
CNN claimed the military declined their interview. But CNN has access to all the interviews, reports and presentations by the military.
My question for CNN is that “Did CNN make effort to reach or interview the Governor of Lagos State to gather facts and interrogate the statement by the Governor, not the military, that there were no blood stains seen at the scene of the incident when he visited lekki toll gate hours later. The Gov admitted one death due to blunt force truama and not bullet shots.

In the spirit of fairness and objectivity, why did CNN not make effort to interview the Governor, who is a key player and credible witness in this unfortunate incident.
My aim is not to speak for the Government or the military as i am not qualified or authorized to do so. I am also thousands of miles away from Nigeria, just like CNN. But i believe we can all make informed judgment and analysis by separating fact from fiction.
In conclusion, do we really need CNN to tell us what happened in Nigeria or what we did to ourselves. We must free ourselves from colonial mentality.
At this difficult moment, we should remember the quote of one of our founding fathers

“I am convinced, and I want you also to be convinced, that the future of this vast country must depend, in the main, on the efforts of OURSELVES to help OURSELVES. This we cannot do if we do not work together in Unity
- Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.

Ourselves not CNN!
Ourselves not BBC!
Ourselves not America

Finally, i will refer @cnni to the image below presented by the protesters which turned out to be a clip from a movie and the deceased has since resurrected. Will Victor Ibanga resurrect tomorrow. Only time will tell...

3and4. It's unfortunate that you cherry pick incidences, have you been following the court panel here in Lagos deliberating the matter? It's been confirmed that people died in that shooting.

How much did APC pay you or your parents to be willfully blinded by truth? It's unfortunate.

Yoruba man! Even the army later agreed that they were indeed @ the Lekki Tollplaza & fired after all their earlier shameless lies of not being there.

Now LASG, Nigerian army & government are frantically trying to wriggle out themselves from this national and inter-national embarrassment hence the ongoing ding dong affair

So this fact alone should be a worry for you to desist from this shameless attempt to defend an evil by the govt to it's own citizens.Truth will be staring you in the face yet you will choose to believe lies.

The major catastrophe about Buhari administration is, they are not open to criticism in whatever guise.Once an attempt is made to call out a specific government's policy, as usual a brigade of its hirelings, propagandists & foot-soldiers will be quick to brandish such a person, group or individual an enemy of state and other unprintable names

I actually occupied space thinking someone with brain wrote something.

My first fear started when I saw no source so I knew whoever OA was have no bearing on the tsunami of fallbacks that will hit Buhari, Burutai and jide Sanwo Olu.

And when I finally read his opinion, my fears were confirmed and validated.

I said it earlier weeks ago that even if Buhari and Burutai do a video that the killings happened and they take the blame, most Zombies will still defend them.

I was not lying.

Ladies and Gentlemen.

This unknown OA is one of the Zombies I was referring to.

1, British government will be looking at the petition to see if it's worthy of their time.

Also the British parliament will deal with fact and not emotions.

2, You should be the one to rewatch it. There's no new thing in that report that we haven't seen before.

3, Who confirmed it ?

Stop spitting rubbish. I have been following the judicial panel closely, there is no where it was confirmed that people died.

Hahaha.. thanks for this. He started off at first like he had something to say and all of a sudden, it was merely rhetorics.

I wished we were a United people, the fall out of this protest would've been an opportunity to demand for strong institutions!

In saner climes, while DSS is busy investigating the matter, the Army disciplinary panel would be sitting to bring the unprofessional soldiers to book!

see wetin you dey yarn....I just tire for you!

first who is more supportive in aiding this govt lies and deceit, off Course it's BBC. .you are comparing a reporter who only sees what is close to him than a sateliite imagery? won't he also run for safety in the midst of the chaos?

you ask again how did the caller know he was Sunday brother, see your question...just so foolish..how do you save phone number on your contacts, is it not with name?some save as my mum, brother, wife, honey, sister, aunt etc .so in any emergency, any helper will dial what she sees on your contact list as family or siblings.

again wetin carry army come for protest that is peaceful? remember the same SARs the govt claim to have ban still came and continue shooting, so you can see the irony of the government.

why were ambulances prevented from coming in n assisting those injured even if you say they were injured from chaotic scenes?

the army, Lagos state government and the FG made one big mistake n for now dnt knw how to admit it...

they were all afraid n uncertain what the protest will led to as they are so selfish due to bad governance n poor leadership. have you gone to bed without food before?have you been without employment after NYSC for years? have you been hard as, brutalized before by the police or SARs over nothing or simply becos you carry even an Android phone? have any of your loved ones been killed before by SARs or the police?

shebi you dey hear the few reports coming out from the judicial panel, who would have thought such things happening yet no one is hearing all this murders..

stop saying what you dnt know....

the facts are there, the army shoot at them n killed many that night of October 20, 2020!

Have you guys noticed that all those who are saying lekki massacre didn't happen are all Yoruba? All those attackin djswitch are Yoruba?
Those who tried to sabotage the protests while they were one through "Yoruba ronu"are all Yoruba . Those who fight against the south unity are Yoruba.

Tomorrow they will wonder why all other tribes hate them

Only Yorubas do you hear saying lekki toll killings are lies everywhere

Why?

And you get angry when all tribes say you guys are judas and hate your guys ?

the Yorubas are very terrible people lets be honest
If they come to a gathering see all groups happy and united the Yoruba person becomes angry and goes around telling everyone you don't trust hausa , you don't trust igbo, you don't trust south south they hate you,you Edo you are my brother trust only me.
Yorubas are the great enemy to south unity

CNN article is not and cannot be a proof of massacre. A panel is sitting right there at lekki where they said the audio massacre took place, victims families should go there and present their evidences. Your love one cannot die and you will be waiting for CNN to announce it for you. Some of us do not behave like slaves who believe anything from the whites.

To be continued

The CNN people interviewed those who had their phone torch lights on. I take their account over that of the NA who choose to shoot in darkness and more importantly, disconnected cameras before shooting. OP can go to hell.

We use our brains to analyze objectively.

The victims had their torch lights on. That means they saw everything. Don't tell me those in panel saw as Mich as the victims. Never.

Correction

1, British government will be looking at the petition to see if it's worthy of their time.

Also the British parliament will deal with fact and not emotions.

2, You should be the one to rewatch it. There's no new thing in that report that we haven't seen before.

3, Who confirmed it ?

Stop spitting rubbish. I have been following the judicial panel closely, there is no where it was confirmed that people died.

4, Enough payment than the one Atiku and Lamidi Cownu is paying you.

You are a fool for your submissions and I sm not surprised at all because there are other people like you here... I only have one question for you is it possible for a live Instagram video to be edited? We all see the live video on Instagram that night where they were trying to remove a bullet from the body of one of the victim.. If truly people were killed that night, everyone involved in the shooting including you who are supporting them will experience the same fate as the victim... You will only escape this curse if no one died

Even those that are not victims are being intimidated and arrested, you keep saying they should go out when we all know the country we live in... I will say this if truly people were killed , all those who ordered and carried out the shootings including you who is supporting them you will experience what those victims experience.. You will remember today when it is about to happen
