The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation , Mallam Mele Kyari, said buyers were begged to purchase the Nigerian crude oil at $ 9 per barrel in April .
The global oil benchmark, Brent crude , plunged to as low as $15. 98 per barrel in April , its lowest since June 1999 amid the collapse in demand and the price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia.
“ Actually , we sold oil at $9 per barrel in April , and practically we begged people to come and take,” Kyari said while addressing energy correspondents in Abuja on Friday.
He said the country achieved a production level of 2.49 million barrels per day in April , adding that the target of three million bpd was achievable.
The NNPC boss said 2020 had been a difficult year for the industry and the world economy , adding that the industry fundamentals had changed.

All it’s just to justify the price of fuel in Nigeria.
As an oil producing nation, must we beg people to buy our crude before we will get petrol?

There are other by-products of crude oil, our illiterate leaders are uninformed that they can work on our existing refineries and also build new ones to process our crude and also extract other by-products of crude oil.

cool

Idiotic man.... We run an oil mono economy and NNPC is as useless as fvck

Aramco is the equivalent of Saudi's NNPC and the make a staggering $80 billion profit... They are into everything from Oil mining to Oil Refinery, Manufacturing, Investment around the world, Even Petrol station accross Arab nations

Imagine if Nigeria builds standard Refinery, and maintain the remaining ones, and NNPC builds Gas stations across nooks and crannies of West. Africa, imagine how much billions NNPC would make

Bastards that have reduced a supposed rich country to dirt poor and poverty capital of the world.

Every one of you ought to rot in hellfire. I just pray that electric cars would be fasttracked so that oil will become worthless.

The easiest way of safeguarding our future is to diversify. Nigeria is good at copying other countries, so why won't we copy UAE?

It is good to refine all our petroleum products locally. However, it’s extremely important we sell our crude oil as well for now. Crude oil sales account for over 80% of our foreign exchange earnings.

No! I dont know but only you know. What business does a country like Nigeria have with importing whether crude oil or petrol/petroleum products from Niger Republic?

A clueless government of a so called giant of Africa headed by a dunce is embarking on nonsensical policy of this nature while the petroleum industry back is nothing to write about.Privatize the NNPC-they said no! Why did he took up the minister of petroleum portfolio?
