Sanctions: We’ve Given UK Balanced Picture Of Developments – FG by damilola4162(m): 9:19pm On Nov 25, 2020 |
The Federal Government has opened talks with the United Kingdom (UK) over recent #EndSARS protest in Nigeria and the reaction of the UK Parliament to the development. The Nation had reported the UK Parliament debated the protest, especially the violence that trailed it and the alleged role of security agencies. There have been reports claimin the UK Parliament has proposed sanctions for Nigerian government officials over the developments. Speaking to State House Correspondents on Wednesday after the week’s virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema, said Nigeria had communicated the events surrounding the protest to the government of the UK. According to him, the reported debate and alleged sanctions were at the level of the parliament, clarifying the parliament does not speak for the UK government. “On the issue of UK Parliament, yes we have reached out to the UK government. The meeting that took place were Parliamentarians and don’t speak for UK government which acts for the United Kingdom has also heard the side of the (Nigerian) government regarding everything that has happened. “So, we have been in touch with them and engaging with them. And of course as in any democracy, the members of parliament are able to also able to air their view. “But what is important is that balanced picture is made available to them before they take any decision,” he said. UK should Focus On Making Uk Free From islamic murderers and Terrorist. You Will Only Be A Fool To Think That Uk Can Punish Nigerian Government Or Change Your Country. This Is A Country Not A School, the Best Way To Make The Change You Want Is to Win Over The Seat Of Power. Stop Being Hypocritical because You Voted For Him so Enjoy His Leadership, as He Approaches The End Of His Term make Your Own Plan To Win The Next Election. If You Have No Idea How To Win The Next election Then click The Link and Read The Book in My Signature But If You Cant Win The Next Election Then Shut The Hell Up and continue voting for trash and please Leave White Men Out Of Nigeria's Issue they are not gods, the have their own issues to sort |

Why is the govt so desperate upon hearing this ban? The ban is for those that kill the protesters only but it is now we know that they cannot do with UK. 1 Like |

This government has undermined Nigerians and neglected the plight of its citizens. If the sanctions will wake them to their responsibilities, then they should be sanctioned! |
