This is very sadden. I always tell teachers that there is nothing a student will do that will warrant u beating him/her. Infact beating students don't stop them from doing what they still have in mind to do or what they are being beaten for. As a teacher, it is best to punish students than beating. Even then, the teacher should be able to limit the length of time of the punishment. Most of this students are so fragile. Some of them even wake up as early as 5am doing house chores, before they eventually leave home for school. So it's best not to allow anger as a teacher to control one in doing what one will later regret. |

most of our people doesn't think before commenting ,d teacher is just un fortunate ,he just got bad luck ,it is just like shaking someone s hand and letter they say u shook him to death or holding someone in his arms and u where called that u held him to death, did he beat him with bombs abi knifes and cutlass ,Abi he used dagger to beat him,do we know d quantity of beating that can kill a human being ,that is why we should pray always not to fall into such a mess of satan where a dead walking person will be waiting for y to hold him so that he will die and people will say u held him to death |

TONYE001: Don't want to doubt the story so much, many people can have underlying health problems but walk freely. Some acute cases too can happen. But rushing to bury the child without examining the child is too bad. What if the boy is in coma? |
Re: Lagos Teacher Beats Student To Death For Not Answering Maths Question Correctly by chatinent: 12:48pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
Could it be the child was already unwell before the beating? Students and pupils are stubborn too. Yes, I don't justify beating anyone to death but..we don't have the full story. The teacher's fate has been left to the graven court of public decisions. When death is involved, the living will always be seen guilty... No more fair hearing. |

A secondary school teacher on Afro hairstyle? This speaks volume about those "I can teach" kind of people, those who took teaching as a stepping stone. They are many in both private and public schools. |

Interest matters. Good teachers know that their core assignment is to awaken the interest in students, once the interest is awakened, the teaching becomes less stressful. A good teacher guides his students in the directions of their individual strengths, not out of blind zeal to make them the best based on social demand. I'm sure that guy like many others is an accidental teacher just as we have immature parents scattered all over. Now, we shall see how mathematics will defend him. It's absolute ignorance to think all students will respond the same way or fall within a particular score line. And, more terrible is the act of comparing students; only an idiot does that. Until you've introduced all subjects and skills of life to a particular soul, never conclude in your small head that they are dumb. Being happy is the ultimate goal and if someone considered dumb appears to be happy, what use is the forceful knowledge that doesn't guarantee happiness. Teachers, please teach with sense. If teachers aren't the same, how much more students. |

capitalzero: No doubt... as in people taking an agent to court to recoup advance payment for rent but have no receipt. This is different.... he beat the boy who died right there..... not left and died later. What possible argument can be made to claim otherwise? ... that the boy is not dead because he was not examined by a medical examiner... and death certificate issued? |

He was brought home in the school's bus by the school proprietress and principal, along with Mr Emma-whom we didn't know was the killer at that time, and he was buried few hours later according to muslim's doctrine Okay the obvious issue aside. Did anyone take him to the hospital? Try to help him? Are they sure he was really dead? As for the teacher, words fail me. Culture of violence |

That school was around my area. What really happened was that the boy died out of the school ignorance. The boy fainted after Mr emma beat him when he was asked to ho and knee outside. Then the school did not take any action, they thought he would wake up because such things happen frequently in the school, it was after some minutes and the boy didn't wake they now took him to the hospital, that wad where he was confirmed dead and taken to his parent |

jacksonkennedy:Of course only an Igbo person could say such, simple. If you were Yoruba like you claim, you wouldn't be uttering such absurdity as you will have muslims as members of your family. Are u from Ebonyi or Delta? See I know the Lukumis traced their origin to the Yorubas, but they now identify as Igbos. So my dear, be proud of your tribal identity, Igbo. They are industrous people |
