Two victims have been rescued from kidnappers by local vigilante group at Obagie community in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State. Narrating the story to newsmen, one of the local vigilante members said they got a distress call from the community people and swung into action immediately to rescue the victims. He further explained that when they discovered their hide outs, the vigilante group attempted to free the kidnapped victims but ended up in gun exchange with the kidnappers as they attempted to escape but luck ran out of one of the kidnappers as he was caught by the vigilante group. He said the kidnappers were seven but two had been caught and five are still at large. As at the time of filling this report, the vigilante group had already handed the kidnapper to Egba Divisional Police Station for onward investigation. Recall that Obagie is under Uhunmwonde Local Government Area which is part of Benin-Auchi road that kidnapping had become the order of the day.
