(1)STEADFAST TRAVAILING IN THE COMMISSION OF CHRIST IN THE BOLDNESS OF GOD.

Firstly, know this, the commission to be a witness of the gospel of Christ, to be an evangelist is a commission to all BELIEVERS.
We start from verse 1, here Apostle Paul mentions how the Church in Thessalonica can testify of him and the brethren that their coming to them was not in vain. And this is how we should go about this commission received from our Lord Jesus Christ according to the will of God our Father.
When doing the will of God by the strength our Lord Jesus Christ provides, we should go about this commission in like manner such as this:
(I)Promptly:
We are not here to waste time, the Bible commands us to manage our time wisely and go about doing the will of God with zeal and passion( Col 4:5).
(II)Wholeheartedly:
In whatsoever you, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance for you serve His Majesty, the Lord Jesus Christ(Col 3:23-24)
(III) Completely:
You serve the Lord doing His will wholly, let it be that by the grace of God in Christ that you wholly followed the Lord Jesus(Num 32:12), serving Him, and where the master is, there will the servant be also and him will our God and a father honour(John 12:26).
IV)Fearlessly:
Do you not know whom you serve, His Majesty, the First and the Last, the Alpha and the Omega, all power and authority has been given unto Him, therefore, fear no one man nor anything.
The Lord will be with you just like how He was with the apostles, the men of God of the past and of today, that is how He will be with you(Matthew 28:20).
(V) Sincerely:
You are not doing the word of a god paying eyeservice(Col 3:22 not with murmurings or grudgingly(Phil 2:14), but serving sincerely from the heart, being passionate, purposes to do the will of God.
(VI)Always:
Always doing the will of God, doing the will of God is now our food, let us take Christ Jesus our Lord as an example with intent to finish His work(John 4:34) and always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our Labour is not in vain in the Lord(1 Corinthians 15:58).

We are doing this with intent to finish His work(John 4:34) taking example from the Lord Jesus and fulfill our ministry(2 Tim 4:5).

➖PERSEVERING WITH BOLDNESS IN THE COMMISSION OF CHRIST DESPITE PERSECUTION AND CONFLICT.

Firstly know this, now we move on to verse 2, it talks about how they had suffered before and were spitefully treated at Philippi, and made known to them how they were bold in our God to speak to the people at Thessalonica the gospel of Christ in much conflict.
All that live godly in Christ will suffer persecution(2 Tim 3:12), therefore it is important to endure hardship as a soldier of Christ(2 Tim 2:3), to endure all afflictions with intent of fulfilling your ministry by the grace of God(2 Tim 4:5).

Now such boldness does not come from man but from God, that is why it is very important for you as an evangelist to be watchful and prayerful, and even when your afraid, you can pray for strength and boldness(Acts 4:29, Luke 22:42-43).

Now we move on to verse 3, it mentions that the exhortation they gave did not come from error, uncleanness nor deceit. They wronged no one, corrupted no one, and cheated no one(2 Cor 7:2).
They presented the gospel of a Christ free of charge and not abuse one’s authority in the gospel(1 Cor 9:18).
➖ RECEIVED THE APPROVAL OF GOD IN CHRIST TO BE ENTRUSTED WITH THE GOSPEL TO PLEASE GOD NOT MEN.

We move on to verse 4, it mentions how Apostle Paul and the brethren were approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so they spoke, not to please men but God who tests our hearts.
We serve the Lord not men, we are not meant to entice men in human wisdom to become believers, we simply preach what we are commanded to preach by His Spirit, there is only one gospel which is centered on CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED(1 Cor 1:2), and that alone is what we preach to please God not men(Gal 1:10).

(2) SELFLESS AND FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE COMMISSION OF CHRIST.

Now we move on to verse 5, It is required of us to be faithful(1 Cor 4:2), not preaching the gospel of Christ Jesus with flattering words nor with a cloak of covetousness, offering selfless and faithful service to the church of Christ by the grace of God in such a manner that you can always boldly say that God of being your witness when contending for the faith.
We will look at three things now:
➖ FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE CHURCH OF CHRIST VOID OF SELFISH GAIN AND SEEKING OF VAIN-GLORY.
➖THE EXPRESS MOTHERLY LOVE TOWARD THE BEGOTTEN IN CHRIST THROUGH THE GOSPEL.
➖THE AFFECTIONATE LONGING TOWARD THE BEGOTTEN IN CHRIST SEEKING SELFLESSLY TO IMPART ONE’S OWN LIFE FOR THE CHURCH.

➖FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE CHURCH OF CHRIST VOID OF SELFISH GAIN AND SEEKING OF VAIN-GLORY.

We move on to verse 6, Apostle Paul nor his brethren sought glory from men, either from even you the reader or others, when they had the liberty to make demands as an Apostle of Christ.
Taking example from the Lord Jesus who did not seek His own glory(John 8:50), and also from Apostle Paul in Christ who lived a Christ-like pattern of self-denial, that is having the liberty, the right to but for the sake of the gospel of Christ not wanting to hinder the gospel nor reap from it even though the right was there to.
Taking example from the Lord Jesus who did not have a place to lay His head(Matthew 8:20).

1 Corinthians 9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
1 Corinthians 9:12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.

This is done for the sake of the gospel so that the authority one has in the ministry might not be abused.

We move on to verse 7, he mentions how he and the brethren were gentle among them as a nursing mother who cherishes her children.
When you evangelize and win souls in Christ by the grace of God, you beget children into the kingdom in Him through the gospel, you become a father/mother in the Lord Jesus.
You being a parent in Christ ought to be someone by whom your children in Him can imitate which is why you ought to in Christ by the grace of God walk worthy of your calling, so train a child like how Apostle Paul trained Timothy in Christ, Timothy would later go on to be the Bishop of the church in Ephesus..
1 Corinthians 4:17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

We move on to verse 8, Apostle Paul mentions how he affectionately longed to be with the members of the church at Thessalonica, to impart to them not only the gospel of God but also their own very lives because they had become dear to Him and the brethren.

A great act of self-giving love, denying oneself, denying self-profit for one self completely for the sake of another, seek to do whatsoever possible out of deep and sincere love to seek the other.
This all comes down to that great commandment, love your neighbour, a commandment that the Lord Jesus obeyed to a wonderful, extraordinary degree, loving many with a greater love, to give one’s own life for many though innocent and bare the punishments as well.

(3) THE EXEMPLARY CHRIST-LIKE CHARACTER AND SERVICE TO THE CHURCH BEFORE GOD AND MEN.

We move on to verse 9, here the author mentions how he and the brethren that we might not be a burden to anyone as they preached the gospel of God to them.

That is although they were entitled to support from the members of the church, they denied even that, seeking to labour and toil that by the grace of God support themselves.
➖DEVOUTLY, JUST AND BLAMELESS CHRIST-LIKE SERVICE TO THE CHURCH BEFORE GOD AND MEN.
➖EXHORT AND COMFORT THE CHURCH IN CHRIST WITH PARENTAL LOVE THROUGH THE GOSPEL.
➖TRAINING THE CHILD IN CHRIST TO WALK WORTHY OF GOD WHO CALLS HIM/HER TO HIS KINGDOM AND GLORY.

We move on to verse 10, the author writes about how the members of the church at Thessalonica are witnesses and God also about how devoutly, justly and blamelessly in their behavior among them who believe.

We ought to be doers of the Word especially when we are the ones who preach it, we are to live by CHRIST in GOD our FATHER, we are to be examples to those we preach to, that they by a Christ might imitate us according to the grace of God.
1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Likewise by Christ, we ought to exhort and comfort our brethren in the church, and treat them as your children with parent care, watching over time, exhorting them and rebuking them when they are being mislead.
Training them up in the way they should go in Christ, so that they might not depart from it by the grace of God who will preserve them for His Heavenly Kingdom.

The just shall live be faith, there is a path God has laid for His children and at the end is His Kingdom through Christ which is not eating and drinking but everlasting righteousness, everlasting peace and everlasting joy in the Holy Spirit(Romans 14:17) and everlasting glory.
Psalms 73:24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

1. Trust in the LORD our God, our labour for our Lord is not in vain.
2. Seek God’s Kingdom FIRST and His righteousness(Mathew 6:33).
➖To seek His righteousness, is to want to passionately by Christ Jesus our Lord in Him, do what is right and pleasing in His sight and it all boils down to loving your neighbour(John 15:17).
➖To seek God’s Kingdom is exactly as it implies, that by and through Christ Jesus, and according to God’s good pleasure for His children to receive His Kingdom(Luke 12:32), that we might separate ourselves from the world and seek His Kingdom, in fact the Kingdom of God is already within you, though the joy and peace yet to be perfected so the righteousness as well but regardless, true undefiled religion is this, to help those in their time of need and affliction, and keep oneself unspotted from the world(James 1:27).
