Shut up animal. Isiagu dress represent Igbo attire. Nonsense animal will teach me my cultural attire of our forefathers. Thunder fire you idiot. These are some fools who never visited their land for live. My mama tell me say I be Igbo.

Mannerless eediot! Go and tell your village people to shut up, not me. You people will turn an isiagu to a random wrapper that anyone can now wear to anything and expect people to revere Igbos and their traditions. Tell me, was Isiagu a common cloth sold in the market when our forefathers were alive?

I don't blame you. I blame the Igbos that keep allowing their culture to be submerged with white men culture all in the name of wokeness.

Mine will be no wedding at all, only traditional. If She no want, then She should foot the wedding bills herself. I passionately hates frivolities, trends and clout chasing.

Fela Anikulapo Kuti said it all. Conquered Africans suffering from Eurocentric acculturation, mental programming and brutal colonisation. Look at them stinking mental slaves.

Culture that is not biblical but that of their slave masters who brought the religion.
Re: Man Wore Igbo Traditional Clothes To His Church Wedding by OyinO: 11:56pm On Dec 05, 2020
This shows that your church tradition is anti-African and pure European culture that is not related to the Bible or church. Was it coat Jesus and his disciples were wearing in biblical times? How then are European cultures to be practised in church?

"Isiagu" is a traditional outfit worn by people who worshipped traditional gods. If he wanted to get married in a church, wearing an outfit made for a traditional ceremony is an insult to the traditional society.

@(Bolded) Your line of argument is so faulty...
Ishi-agu is the most popular cultural dress of the Igbo people.. And they were worn at ceremonies and big occasions..
The dress has nothing (absolutely nothing) to do with idol worshipping..
..
You can find out for yourself the popular cultural dresses for other tribes in Nigeria, and even abroad.. (Scotland and co).. Then, tell me if they wear them to worship idols.

When you see an Igbo man that is a traditionalist, he applies traditional to every thing he does

That dress is called Isiagu, its a native dress for men

He could as well wore a suit which is the real conventional dress for English wedding, but putting on that dress shows he loves his culture and tradition
By the time many people will start to wear anything to their own church weddings, including bum-shorts,, that will be the time the churches will develop proper dress-codes for intending couples...
For now, many people are still doing what others were doing.

A sensible African will not even engage in white wedding.

Probably the wife forced it or he did it to satisfy his parents.

You'll be surprised how many ladies will say over their dead body when asked to forgo church wedding for just traditional wedding. One even asked me, "What will I tell my friends?" As in, that was her excuse. Unfortunately, by the time she came back pleading for just the trad, man don waka already

I also wore a native attire to my church wedding .

I personally hate suits, I don't understand the fuss behind them .

I find them very uncomfortable and pointless.

I have been working fully remote for many years, when I worked in an office, I wore what I was comfortable in, Jean and round neck top , with nice sneakers.
My employers forced me to wear uncomfortable "corporate wears ".

I don't understand why Africans like clinging to certain "norms", especially when there are better and more comfortable options.

I hate "norms" especially when they can be improved upon, or they are unnecessary, I like disrupting.
Efficiency is better than follow follow
My son you have to resign and start your own company, if you feel uncomfortable wearing business or corporate wear.
In my company, democracy do not apply.
Attire rules. No tight fitting trousers, Shirt, Suit and skirts
No beard
No heavy make-up
No bushy hair, No clean shaven hair, except for me the MD.
No office romance.
Again please resign and start your own business

Finally, a sensible African!

Lol. The way some of you guys see things show how poorly logical most of you are.

So because he wore a traditional to his wedding makes him sensible than others who dont? And more African

But you forgot that this is incomplete...

For him to be completely Africanize, his wife must wear native from head to toe, and the wedding should take place in a shrine or at the brides home, because thats the African way.

This is still a combination of western and African culture. ...

Which sensible . Why is his wife not wearing her own .
Besides what is the use of the white wedding when they can just do tradition and is a enough .
White weddings is it part of our tradition if really he wants to represent Africa?

Nice one. The Catholic Church strongly supports inculturation and it reflects with those ishi agu prints on their chasubles.
This is total bullshit .
Is going to church Africa culture in the real sense.

An attribute of religion is it being dispersal, just like the phone you are using and the English language you are communicating with as a result of western education are not products of our African culture.
