Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has said he is not in support of zoning.

Fayemi stated this while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics yesterday.

The governor was reacting to various calls for Nigeria to have a president from the Southern part of the country in 2023.

Fayemi said he understands why those who feel marginalized are clamoring for the presidency, but insisted that “in a country that is multicultural, multireligious and multiethnic, one of the equilibrating mechanisms is to ensure that those in leadership represent the mosaic that the country is

You can now see that the problem of the south is the southerners themselves.

By the time the North decides to take advantage of this statement to hold on to power, the same people will be shouting 'marginalisation'

This political disagreement happens everywhere.

But why is it that when Igbos disagree politically it becomes big news. Fayemi said A, Fashola said B. Same political family.

We should always be careful the way we pick everything politically on tribes. Politicians are politicians everywhere every tribe.

Fayemi said he understands why those who feel marginalized are clamoring for the presidency, but insisted that “in a country that is multicultural, multireligious and multiethnic, one of the equilibrating mechanisms is to ensure that those in leadership represent the mosaic that the country is”.

Another disloyal and green snack comment from the most disloyal, treacherous and sneaky politician in the SW.

His point about "multicultural, multireligious and multiethnic, one of the equilibrating mechanisms is to ensure that those in leadership represent the mosaic that the country" is exactly the reason why zoning is necessary to make sure that power rotates around the county to reflect the same multicultural, multireligious and multiethnic nature of Nigeria by making sure that power doesn't stay or remain in one part of the country without the multicultural, multireligious and multiethnic necessities.

This supposedly educated man is using the same reasons why zoning is necessary to begate and reject zoning?

It's obvious that this selfish and overambitious man is playing and dancing to his own selfish and spoiler tune, not because of any personal conviction or truthfulness.

Of course, why is this man from the SW and the region set to benefit from Zoning arguing against zoning? Because of his own selfish reasons,, blind political ambition and planning spoiler against the his own region and the interest of his own kins in the SW.

Most importantly, he's always into anti party activities, APC in Ekiti suspended him last september for the same anti party moves, he's the most sneaky, disloyal, untrustworthy and treacherous APC member.

Nice, he's spoiling for war. Tinubu should be more afraid of Fayemi than any other politician from the South West.

How is south west going to benefit from zoning ? U well so ?

2023 ,zoning and south west can't be in the same sentence of

North east ,north central even gave far more claim to 2023 than south west

If it's zoning then it's coming to south east , if north everyone should go for it

All this politicians playing this no zoning card

Should understand that Nigeria is not yet matured for that

Infact one of the reason why this country is looking so divided right now is because of this administrations failure to respect the federal character agreement

Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, has just been suspended by a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his own state.

In this piece, we take you through how Fayemi got here and why his name keeps coming up ahead of the 2023 presidential race.

Fayemi and national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are not the best of friends right now. That should be the worst kept secret in the political sphere.

The relationship between both men has actually been frosty for a while.

Highly placed sources have repeatedly told Pulse that Fayemi is very interested in the 2023 presidency, even though he hasn’t come out to say so publicly. He hasn't denied it either.

Fayemi is pitching to be vice president or president in the next dispensation and he considers APC godfather Tinubu one of the impediments to this ambition.

Tinubu is also interested in the presidency. There’s some likelihood that Tinubu will run in 2023 or nominate someone who will. It is why the man has increased the frequency of his public appearances and press statements.

Behind the scenes, Fayemi has severed all ties with Tinubu and his Bourdillon as he continues to set his gaze on the big prize in 2023.

In APC circles, most now consider Fayemi a traitor who works with the opposition to undermine APC candidates during elections.

Seems is more concerned about Tinubu than Zoning...

Fortunately for APC, they know him and his anti party, treachery and disloyal activities.

Fayemi wants to be President. Amosun too but they know APC Won't give the ticket to a Muslim in 2023 for balance reasons
Note a couple of things
1. He is not in control of the party in the SW or even his state.
2. He cannot get the presidential ticket, heck even senate in his own state
3. He and Amosun are in the same camp. They always thought Amosun will use the "influence" he brags about (being close to Buhari) to sway positions but Amosun failed in 2019 and lost the party structure in Ogun state.
4. The death of Kyari hit them hard
5. Fayemi is going to be out of office before the presidential and NASS primaries and it scares him as he will have limited power and influence
6. Fayose who is at war with Seyi Makinde over the soul of PDP SW might lose in the PDP and decamp. If this happens, it will be impossible for him to get anything when out of office

His best bet now is to position himself for vice president while he is governor.

This Fayemi is a big fool. Do u think in a normal setting, Hausa/Fulani will support any southerner. U mean Hausa/Fulani can continue to rule even with clear margin of retaining power if they wish to do so. U get no sense Mr governor.

Once out of office, Fayemi is going to the PDP. He wants to be VP under Atiku. The problem however is that Fayemi is a hard sell in the South. In fact, he is a political nuisance in his Ekiti state.

Once Fayemi is out of office, Ojudu and Fayose will reduce him to nothing.
