The way we black play victims when the issue of racism is raised is very childish...all over Africa we call ourselves Niggas as nick names, but when a white folk says it to us....boom we start crying....

Racism is parts and parcel of life...even blacks do it to blacks...that's not to say it's a good thing..

But racism is losing its meaning completely...

Slave mentality.

See, as a proud black man, I totally stand against racism.

But to be honest, most blacks are beginning to take it WAY TOO FAR.

Racism is when a person is abused, maltreated or insulted, due to the colour of their skin. Like the monkey chants, a banana being thrown at Alves, kneeling on the neck of Floyd by a white police e.t.c These are examples of Racism.

But the fourth official did none of those. And the players had to walk off, cos someone was called a black guy? SMH.

Isn't it normal for a black guy to refer to a group of white friends as 'my White folks'?So what's wrong in calling a black guy, a black guy.

We should be proud of our skin colour.

We should proud to be called blacks.

But we stand against any form of maltreatment, abuse or injustice against us because we are black.

Honestly we blacks cry alot. The referee simply asked his assistant who should be carded and the assistant responded with "tipu negru" which from his language to English means " the black guy"

That was enough to start crying racism. We blacks are our own problem to be honest. Whats the racism in calling a black person black as an adjective? Same as saying "that tall guy" or that white guy. The ref didn't know the name of the assistant coach and " that black guy" was the best he could use to describe him.

No bro, I disagree with your last sentence.. "The ref didn't know the name of the assistant coach and " that black guy" was the best he could use to describe him."..
Before the match start, the coaches, players and staff meet together with refreee. At least the that 4th official should have asked one of the players the name of there assistant coach instead of addressing him informalling as "that black guy" Or better still describe him as the assistant coach.

Assuming you went for a meeting, then someone describe you in the meeting as "that black guy".. How will you feel? Choice of words are very important. In my own point of view, he should have describe him with another appellation that is more formal

obviously there is no racism in calling him "black guy", but the intention of the official towards calling him black guy is not pure. He couldn't refer to the white guy as White, but could call the guy "black guy". All na still racist jor.

To be frank, their is nothing bad in calling him black guy, but I want to believe he knows his name, and if he don't he shld av just ask his coach.

is it nor mal to call some one negro? no its only a term seldom used when one wants to tag a black man as a slave as it was a word used during slavery "Negro was a white-coined word intended to marginalize black people, which implied black inferiority so before you open your mouth and say rubbish do some research.

Very correct, of a truth, all those who get over-emotional over been called black are really ashamed of their colour, now tell me a white guy who will be angry for been called white?

It is because we the black race has refused to take our destinies in our hands and move our race forward, so everything black is associated with failure and backwardness, hence the need to distance themselves from the colour.

Clear example: A tall guy won't mind you referring yo him as tall guy but a short person will pick offense when called short.

The 4th official said negro. Negro is the word for black in his language. Just like Noir or Schwarz for French and German respectively. The 4th official didn't say anything racist. Una own don too much. Soon na only sign language dem go dey use for black people. Or then una go still find the finger wey dey racist.

The referee wanted to issue a booking after an altercation, but wasn't sure who the culprit was. The 4th official identified Webo by saying the black guy. He used the Romanian word for black...negru...which of course is similar to negro. My point is, the 4th official didn't say anything even remotely racist. When you refer to a white person as Oyinbo, are you being racist?

Don't just mind them. When a white refers to a black as nigger it is offence but blacks call themselves nigger, but no one is is insulted. Here in nairaland some even call themselves nigger as moniker. Blacks always beating about the bush.

Banana was thrown to Alves, he bent down and picked it and ate it, the fellow that threw in that banana will not waste his banana on Alves next time

Your point noted. Understand that in a circumstantial way, using that term becomes racist.

If you don't curb it in every dimension, literal racism will stroll in. Then you will find it that they are playing on your intelligence. So better to curb any racial term. Imagine be identified as that "coloured guy" in a midst is white friends and others laughing (let's say u coloured). Hope you get my point.

So it isn't a case of being proud to be black, they are, even love the black colour more than you think.

Why explain again when Demba Ba has said it all. When you want to call a white guy, you say that guy. You want to call a black guy, you say that black guy and you think it is not rascist.
