It seems that the Ugandan promoter of the show had gotten permission from the authorities and in fact, Ugandan policemen provided security for Omah Lay right from the airport to his hotel. The fans also enjoyed the show and it seems that most ordinary Ugandans were in support of it.


However, Ugandan musicians complained after videos and pictures of the concert went viral. They are not allowed to perform in front of crowds and so they were angry that Omah Lay was allowed to perform in front of a crowd.

It was the complaints from Ugandan musicians that led to Omah Lay's arrest.

However, regular Ugandans are asking why the owner of the venue was not arrested (apparently she is the daughter of an influential person in Uganda). They also believe that the police are playing a trick in order to please Ugandan musicians and that Omah Lay will be released as soon as there is a new trending topic.

Dont mind the useless Ugandan police. Those guys are the most corrupt policemen in African, even more than Naija police. We organized Rudeboy concert in Uganda in February this year. On the day of the event, the stupid police stole our tickets and were selling it outside the venue for half the price. Those guys operate at another level of corruption.

Naira marley reside in Nigeria and knows there was a law in place concerning covid.
